Steven Cozzolino Wins 2022 NFBC Auction Championship & $20,000

Steven Cozzolino of New York City won the 2022 NFBC Auction Championship title and that $20,000 grand prize as he bested a field of 135 teams for this title. Due to the 99-day lockout, we scaled back the grand prize and based it on nine full leagues, which we reached. But with no issues in the way heading into this season, you can expect the grand prize to rise to $30,000 again this year.

Steven drafted live in New York City on April 1st at 9 am ET at the Stewart Hotel and he won his league title with 131 points as two other teams finished in the Top 10 overall from that league. He edged Scott Fleming by 39 points for the overall title as Scott won his Las Vegas league title to win $7,750 and then earned another $5,000 for his runner-up overall finish. Rounding out the Top 5 in the overall were Colin Weatherwax, Mark Srebro and Scott Waggener. We paid the Top 8 overall and the Top 3 in each league.

Steven's winning total of 1,168 points was 86.5 percent of available points in this 135-team field. This was a close race for the overall title as 10 teams were within 165 points of the lead.

This marks the second straight year that our NFBC Auction Championship winner has come out of New York City. Philippe Dussault won the overall title last year from the New York $2500 Auction Championship League.

Great job everyone and we expect to have at least 12 leagues and 180 teams competing for this title in 2023. We will again offer live auctions in Las Vegas and New York City, while adding a couple of options Online as well. We had two Online Auction Championship leagues this year. Congrats to all the league and overall money winners and thanks for sticking with us through the 99-day lockout.
