Desperately in need of power, KMG signed Alex 'Babe Ruth' Gonzalez this weekend. Gonzalez paid immediate dividends last evening by smacking 2 homeruns in his first game. In so doing, he vaulted past Pat Burrell, Ryan Zimmerman, Brian Roberts, and Julio Lugo on the team's homerun list, and he matched the seasonal outputs of Brian McCann, Scott Rolen and Kevin Youklis, all of whom have been active all season. Only Grady Sizemore (5), Jason Bay (4), and Lyle Overbay (3) have outslugged the newcomer Gonzalez.
Anybody else have a team where homeruns (and other stats) occur about as often as sightings of Haley's Comet?

Your new Bambino also has shown more power than Edwin Encarnacion (1), Brian Giles (1), and Shea Hillenbrand (0).

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
