Congrats to Bryan Bevis of Victoria, Minnesota for winning the 2025 NFBC Best Ball Cutline Championship and that $50,000 grand prize. He defeated a field of 1,080 teams for this top prize, topping a "final table" of 20 finalists over the last three weeks for the title.
Bryan finished first at "the final table" of 20 teams over the last three weeks, edging Darren Wan by 28.0 points for the title. Bryan had three teams finish in the Top 5 overall with 3rd place and 5th place finishes to go along with his title team. That's pretty amazing. Well done Bryan and congrats.
Bryan entered the last three-week period of the Championship Round with his three qualifying teams placing 1st, 8th and 11th. After the first week, those teams moved into 2nd, 3rd and 16th place. After the second week, they were 1st, 3rd and 11th and all three teams moved into the Top 5 of the Championship Round when the third and final Championship Round was completed.
His Schonfish BB Cut6 team won the title with 2,661.2 points, with Darren Wan's team finishing second with 2,633.2 points. Darren earned $10,000 for his runner-up finish. Rounding out the Top 5 were Bevis ($5,000), defending champion Bob Catsiroumpas ($3,500) and Bevis ($3,000). The Top 20 at "the final table" all earned cash prizes. David Matthew Hinkel won the Wild Card Tier to earn $1,500, edging Aaron Jones, who earnd $1,000 for his runner-up finish. We paid the Top 5 overall in the Wild Card Tier.
Bryan had 15 Best Ball Cutline teams this year to help us keep this contest alive for another year. We lowered the grand prize to $50,000 this year, but said we'd continue to grow the contest if we sold it out in 2025. We not only sold it out, but added 8 leagues that allowed us to pay special prizes after the regular season concluded in Week 16. We will return with the Best Ball Cutline Championship in 2026 and push for 1,100 teams after finishing with 1,080 teams in 2025.
Bryan won one league title, but had three teams that immediately made it to the Championship Round and seven teams that qualified for the Wild Card Tier. All three teams made it to the Championship Round's next round and even one of the Wild Card Tier teams moved into the Championship Round. Three of those four teams that made it to the "final table", giving Bryan three shots at the $50,000 grand prize. Quite a run indeed.
Thanks all and congrats to all of our prize winners. Here's the final standings from the 2025 NFBC Best Ball Cutline Championship's Final Championship Round:
