This DL Rule has become a mess.

Jason Giambi, Is the latest case where a player everyone knows is going on the DL doesn't qualify here on the NFBC. This rule does not serve to help the contest. You either go to twice a week moves or limit it to one. This half way measure is a joke.

Walla,

If he is on the DL within the designated time period you can take him out. If not you have to keep him in there. If not your stuck with a guy for 3 days on your roster that dosent play.

Now stop complaining, we cant win with you can we?!?! If we made twice a week moves you would want 3.

How about we just put your team ahead of Mark's in the overall. WOuld that finally make you happy. You wine alot dont you.

Two weeks ago I took out Baldelli for Jose Guillen.

Owners of Randy Johnson, may have lucked out with his 6 scoreless IP, win, etc and then been able to start someone else had he been dl'ed after leaving. Who knows if sub would have done same or provided extra win...just luck of the draw I guess...

Just an example of a possible scenario...

Just an example of a possible scenario... a bad example because if he pitched on a Monday or Tuesday, you would not be netting an extra start but getting a 2nd start from a lesser player. Hurt on Thursday-Sunday makes it irrelevant. So if your starting pitcher gets hurt on Wednesday and you have a good option on the bench who happens to get a quality start for that weekend then you gain an advantage.

love the DL rule.....I think it's the best you can do. I think the NFBC has to set a bar and respecting the official MLB DL is the way to go.

I think I have a (not commonly needed) but useful loophole to the DL rule that is a problem. If I have a 2 start pitcher for a week and I'm not crazy about his first start (this happened to me once, at Boston vs. Schilling), but I like his 2nd start, I can put a DL pitcher into my Monday lineup and then take the guy out on Friday morning. Not really cool, but totally possible and a very minor manipulation of the rules that could probably somehow be covered (ie. players on the DL on Monday who who are entered into lineups are frozen for the entire week). I didn't use the loophole.....didn't feel right about it, and I just started the guy twice.

The rule has helped me this year about 5 or 6 times , and then some times you get a guy like Giambi and Chipper who we no wont play this week , but out on the DL on friday.

Cant hit em all, but still like the rule.
