Has anyone in the NFBC had worse luck with pitchers this season?

I drafted 3 closers with a potential for a 4th.

BJ Ryan

Armando Benitez

Solomon Torres

Kevin Gregg

I was forced to waive Gregg early due to numerous team injuries.

As everyone knows, BJ Ryan was then lost for the season.

This week, Armando Benitez and Solomon Torres have both lost their jobs.

Now the average person would think that leaves me with no closers, however my starting pitching has potentially been worse.

My top 3 starters drafted were Brett Myers, Rich Harden, and Jonathan Papelbon. Of course Papelbon was moved to the closers role prior to the season which gave me 5 potential closers, and then Myers was moved to the bullpen about 3 weeks later, and would eventually become a closer to give me 6.

So with Harden on the DL, I was now without my top 3 starters, and then last week Myers went on the DL as well so now I have Papelbon as my only closer and no decent starters to speak of until Harden comes back, if he comes back.

That certainly has to qualify as bad luck in pitching although I knew the risk when I drafted Harden.

That is pretty bad luck.I drafted BJ Ryan and Dotel in the Ultimate, cant get much worse than that for a 4th round and a 12th round pick.

Sorry to hear about your pitching. I remember you from boxscore...you are a great owner and competitor.

It won't make you feel any better, but may make you laugh at least.

In Ultamite, I drafted Jorge Julio late...was happy when he was named Florida's closer after the trade (thought yes - one up for me!) Stayed with him through the blown saves...dropped him for another free agent...then bid 207 on him...was out for Mother's Day and didn't get back in time to see him traded and setting up

We drafted Carpenter (4th), Gagne (8th) and Jennings (20th). Not as bad as 0-for-closers, but Carpenter alone makes it a trainwreck.
