Ben Sheets retired all six batters he faced Saturday in a start against the Rockies.
Based on ADP, Sheets is currently one of THE best bargains in the satellite leagues. He was a first/second rounder a few years ago. He's got the skillz...just gotta stay healthy to dominate.

Zito sucks, I laughed at all the people drafting him last season. Being overpaid in real baseball doesn't translate to fantasy success.

[/QUOTE]I don't hate him, but I have him as the 83rd best SP this year and I see that he goes 55th not counting the SPs that MDC has listed as RPs. It's not that big a difference. I see lots of other guys that I think are going in the wrong slot. I have him at an ERA around 4, but his wins will take a huge hit with that offense this year.
I will say that my projection system doesn't realize that when Zito is off, he is ridiculously hittable like no one I've ever seen. He has the one bad inning bug.

How does San Francisco give Zito that kind of money. It blows my mind some pitchers get top ten money and their not even a top 70 pitcher.Theirs been some others like Hampton and K Brown that come to mind.

Who you invest in him the next year? Depends on which way those numbers are trending. If the 226.1 ip year is the most recent then um yes, but I researched the innings and k's from 2007 and none of those numbers could be found.

Sheet's last five seasons
220.2 232 29 43 157 4.45
237 201 25 32 264 2.70
156.2 142 19 25 141 3.33
106 105 9 11 116 3.82
141.1 138 17 37 106 3.82
As in Mr. Schilling, sometimes you have to gamble on talent. Sheet posted elite numbers in 2004 and had elite command in 2006. You might have to take a deep breath when you draft him, but he might reward you one year.
Schilling's number the folowing two years:
254.1 208 25 58 319 2.97
268.2 236 23 61 300 3.25
220.2 232 29 43 157 4.45
237 201 25 32 264 2.70
156.2 142 19 25 141 3.33
