Second basemen...so many mediocre picks, so little time!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

There are only a few truly standout players and once they're gone the talent drops off considerably. There may be a premium on getting those top second basemen this year.

I think that there are some interesting names down the board on 2b list. Will they guarranty solidifying spot...no. But then again Phillips, Kinsler were both on the bench in September and Utley still has huge question marks. Pedroia's minor league #s do not support a repeat season. For instance can Hill get back to 07 form? If Ellis plays full year, he sort of has Kinsler type number s in 08. Is this finally the year for Weeks? Does Kendrick become a Polanco sort and does he stay healthy? Where does O DOgg land and what can you expect there?

[/QUOTE]Because of Utley's surgery (will he be back spring or May?), Kinsler's potential career year last year and injury, and Brandon Phillips good counting stats/bad BA, I can understand why so much love is going to Pedroia for his speed and BA, but while I jumped on Utley last year in the first, I will probably let Dustin and the others going in the top two/three rounds pass and hang out with the other ten losers for the deep and uninspiring "second" tier unless Phillips slips to late second/top third. I would jump then, but otherwise, lookout Freddy Sanchez, here I come!

:D

Didn't see Chris Getz for the white sox on that list. Have not looked at his minor league stuff but will he be at 2B for the draft?
