Mixed Auction Leagues
There has been a request from a few NFBC owners to add a Mixed Auction League to the lineup of events. I'll use this thread to gauge the interest in a Mixed League and we'll take it from there. I'm not sure when we'd do it in each city, but for now let's say at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 18, the same time as the AL Auction Leagues in New York and Las Vegas. I will shoot for $650 entry fees, 16-18 teams and payouts to four spots. First place would be $4,000 or $4,500, depending on how much we decide to pay second, third and fourth. We could do Mixed Leagues with only 12 teams, but obviously the player pool would be very deep then.
My goal is just to see what level of interest there is from our group now and plan accordingly. It would be a 5x5 league, 23 players, six reserves, $260 budget and $1,000 in-season FAAB budget. Very similar to the other Auction Leagues.
So far, three people have said they would do it.
Howard Markowitz in Las Vegas
Gordon Gekko in New York
Jay Bufis in New York
Any thoughts are appreciated and we'll keep the thread going. Thanks.

Greg,
I'd be interested in a 16 (preferable) or 18 mixed league auction. Thats an auction I'd enter as opposed to the higher priced AL or NL only offerings. Do you recall how long those auctions ran last year ?

Mixed Auction Leagues
We would love to organize a 16 or 18-team mixed Auction League in New York at $650/team. I think anyone who is interested in that should post here and we'll keep the running tally going before we get serious about taking actual signups. I also think it would be fun and it seems to have more interest in New York right now than either Chicago or Las Vegas.
If my memory is correct, I believe the Auction Leagues took about 4 1/2 hours last year, maybe five hours counting the reserve draft. Yes, they are long, but as long as we have good auctioneers, they can go along at a good clip. We might have to schedule a 16 or 18-team Auction League for early afternoon, Friday March 18th if we do it in New York.
Thanks for the interest. Let's keep the posts coming here.

The registration pages with the $650 Auction Leagues should be done in a day or two and we are adding Mixed Leagues as an option in each city. You can sign up for those and I won't process those credit cards until we're guaranteed of filling a league in one of the cities. I understand there is some interest in the Mixed Auction Leagues, yet trepidation in signing up for something that might not take place. But I won't process these until we know we're going forward, so don't be afraid to sign up. Thanks.
