I don't really like your end game pitchers but other than that it is a pretty good group. Also, I am assuming that you took Youk really early in round 3 - don't know if I would do that either.
It is a team you can win with, if you work the waiver wire well.

freddie i totally agree not happy about my starters after pelf -- i do like the rodney zumaya ceda depth feel like ill hit on a closer there
And yes i did jump the gun a tad on Youk i agree
I did hit all my targets though with conservative estimates for choo and garko who i think can both have pretty big years

My only observation is to wonder if Wigginton, Bradley, Garko, Choo, Church, and Murphy will get the number of AB's you are looking for? I am trying to assess the impact of Manny-Man signing in LA will have on Ethier as well.
Good luck!

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Good luck! I had the same observation. The counting stats look thin based on at bats.

OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

I hit 265 hr 175 sb 1125 r 1085 rbi by my projections
i was trying to get to 250 150 1100 1050 so i think i did well
ethier full time
garko will get lion share
Between murphy and church one will emerge as aeverday of teh other will platoon with tatis
wiggy i think plays everyday -- thats why he went to the o's they basically guaranteed him 500+ ab
Choo and Bradley are risks but i dont see how they keep choo off the field thsi year

I thing its a pretty balanced team.Maybe one more safe power hitter would have been nice.Bradly is alway's nicked up and he cant dh this year ,what round did you get him maybe a safer pick here with 30 homer power.I think Wiggington will put up good numbers and at least 400 to 500 at bat's.He had a monster 2nd half.I also wouldnt worry about Either with Manny signed he actually hit his best with Manny in the lineup and he now has more value.Pierre is now the odd man outand want's to be traded.good luck

ethier full timeI hope you're right as I have Ethier elsewhere, but I don't think theres any way that Andre gets 500 ABs. Pierre should start against all LHP.

To tell the truth. Pretty sad. sorry.
Pick apart my team!!!
i like your infield. im not a fan of your OF at all and i dont see garko getting nearly enough at bats to make him solid at UT. but that being said he is one pronk or victor injury away from being in there. so maybe not too bad.
like the front half of your staff, but find the 2nd half completely replaceable.
i cant wait to see what group of losers i can grab. FAAB will be where you and everyone else lives to win their league.
thanks for posting your squad and giving us all a little taste.

I used all your hitters except Pearce and Murphy, since they are likely your bench guys.
I have you projected at:
.282
238 HR
1053 R
1006 RBI
150 SB
I used: Peavy, Halladay, Nolasco, Pelfrey, Blanton, Cook, Rodney, Wilson and Fuentes for your pitching.
94 W
76 Sv
1097 K
3.90 ERA
1.33 WHIP
I have to say - I agree with Walla. That's not a good squad. Your pitching really falls off after Peavy / Hallady to a couple of might be goods and a lot of...yeech.
I presume you went Reyes / Crawford which is what cost you in the power categories. You'll need a big power stick at some point.
Edit: Pitching stuff

I also agree with Walla; I don't like that squad at all. .282 is generous; it will struggle to hit .280

That'd still be the only target you'd hit though. Sorry man.

i also dont think your wildly conservation projections leave me that far away from my targets -- certainly with a good FAAB pu or two

I think you projection goals are very short to start, even if you hit your targets in hitting you are going to be short of the leaders. You need to increase your targets because of injury and other factors. I would try to target
BA 280
R 1150
HR 280
RBI 1120
SB 150
the issue with pitching, no matter how you work the waiver wire, you are going to be extremely short in K's and probably will end up hurting whip and era trying to catch up in K's

I agree with the guys who say your low...
I figure your team for about 240/150 and 1050-1100 in R's and 950-1000 in RBI's and a BA under .280.
Pitching ends up with a similar overall point total of between 35-40 pitching points. ERA and WHIP look decent, but K's and W's are well below where they need to be.
Maybe a 7th place finish in the league?

Fire Away FWIW, I ran the offense through my projections and came up with:
BA: .284 (though you do have a fair amount of downside here)
R: 1052
HR: 232
RBI: 1068
SB: 161
-I like Ramon Hernandez a lot this season, though I have/will drafted/draft a solid backup C for him.
-Fuentes is another pick I like--saves annually rain in L.A./Anaheim, yet he comes at an affordable cost.
-I have steered completely clear of Wigginton this draft season. As of today, he is the wrong side of a platoon with Luke Scott at DH. He probably went to Baltimore because it was the only team offering a multi-year deal worth anything (no team wanted him as a regular 3B given his defense). He may eventually find regular ABs since he backs up OF, 1B, 2B, and 3B, but I would rather own him as a $1-2 stash (in auction) than as a starter. I have him down for 18 HR anyway.
-Not a fan of Garko. I see the writing on the wall when Wedge says he will try to find Garko time in the OF. For one, it means he is not slated to receive enough regular time in the IF. For two, it means Wedge is trying to find a platoon mate for one of your OF, Choo, who I really like (unless Garko steals PT vs. LHP). A Garko/Wigginton duo at CI should work well enough, though. That leaves the U slot open, but that can be filled in numerous ways.
Otherwise, I agree with the poster who said your goals should have been higher. Personally, I enter with the following targets:
BA: .285 (can't be too safe here given yearly BA fluctuations)
R: 1150
HR: 280
RBI: 1140
SB: 180
I call these "goals" knowing that injuries/busts/decline/[projections that make me look like an idiot by June] are likely to take their toll during the season, and I want to have some breathing room if/when they do. If my team is not projected to win the league by at least 10-15 points after the draft, I know I am in for a grind.
I think your team will need work during the season. The good thing is you are solid at C/C/1B/2B/SS. In my experience, the two easiest positions (excluding U) at which to improve midseason are SP and OF. The not-so-good thing is this team could really use a HR/RBI infusion. Unless you find a Gamel/LaPorta type who receives the call and hits the ground running, I am generally pessimistic about being about to supplement those categories midseason. My honest expectation is this team finishes 6th-10th.
