Sorry about the late notice again, but I'm having Tom on my show today at 12:30 ET/9:30 a.m. PT, to talk about the week in FAAB and what's been going on with the NFBC in general. The show begins at noon/9:00 with Will Carroll today.

Jeff – If you want to experience your highest rated show (no offense to anyone), sign me up. I know you tried to get me for an earlier show, but unfortunately the timing didn’t work for me. I’d be happy to discuss FAAB and/or the NFBC in general. Be warned, I don’t sugarcoat anything. I have strong opinions on most subjects and a breath of honesty and experience should fuel your show right up the charts! Promote it the week before and BANG!

With that said, I won’t discuss FAAB pickups for the upcoming week. I realize that many of your listeners ARE indeed interested in this info, however, I can’t handicap myself. I’d be happy to discuss them after FAAB runs on Sunday night.

For instance,

Best buys that were available in most leagues were Sheffield and Rich Hill. I picked up some 2 start gems  to start this week in some of my leagues:

McCarthy, Brandon (TEX)

Gallagher, Sean (OAK)

Augenstein, Bryan (ARI)

Martis, Shairon (WAS)

If interested, shoot me a PM with what time slots are available. I’m usually “working” from 8-4pm, but I might be able to break free for a few minutes. I’m available any evening .

now Augenstein goes once against oakland and loses the marlins (josh johnson). that is like having a 2 start week.

Just for fun, here were my top FAAB bids on Friday:

Drop-Bid-Add

Matthews Jr., Gary OF LAA 29 Tatis, Fernando (NYM)

Pineiro, Joel P STL  29 Wilson, C.J. (TEX)

Reyes, Jo-Jo P ATL  19 Harrison, Matt (TEX)

From Friday - Sunday, only one of those guys still remained a top bid for me. What happened over the weekend:

1. Tatis will share 1B duties while Delgado is out. Murphy and Reed (if you can believe it) look to be taking about 25% of PT. On Sunday morning I removed Tatis as my top option. Sunday night, when I saw Reed in starting at 1B and Tatis out of the lineup, I lowered Tatis's bid quite a bit (over 50%).

2. C.J. Wilson has the save opps for a few days. Truth is he sucks. His peripherals show that he's a worse pitcher than he was last year (if that's even possible). I believe I still had him a top option, but lowered his price significantly (~75%). Some closers can get by (due to the limited innings they might not get exposed).

3. Harrison is a decent spec play, however this week he gets one start and it's against Verlander. Yuck! Being a contact pitcher and pitching in Texas could cause some very frightful games for his owners. I dropped him from top bid to middle of the pack for $2 or so.

Yeah I picked up Sheffield in a couple of leagues also Mark. I missed by him by $4 in my Super Draft League and was dissappointed. Because of injuries to Flores, Delagado, Edwin, and Dukes and also throw in the chronic flu-ridden Votto and the wall-smashing Hamilton... I desparately needed another big bat in my lineup.

All that X 5 or so right ? Don't know about you but I'm up to my neck this season. Too many leagues with too many messy teams ----> a volatile mix to a sane summer.
