Thanks Wayne and trust me Tom and I think we can still keep the family feel going forward. Some folks thought that by adding 50 Online Championship leagues we'd lose the personal feel of Tom and Greg because they had so much work to do in baseball and football. So far I don't believe that has happened. We have just had to work MORE HOURS, that's all!!
I copied point 2 above for one reason: The trend in this industry is to do back-to-back main events to grow your user base. As many people have said here, that allows those folks with more money better odds of winning the main event. And with the mains so close together, there is no additional strategy involved, additional research involved, nothing, other than MORE MONEY!! Right?
And we could have gone this route and I believe gotten 30-40% of all owners to take a second team. Plus we wouldn't have an additional expense of staff travel, hotel rental and all that goes on with hosting TWO WEEKENDS of events. If we really wanted to prove we are greedy, we would have gone that route and killed the Auctions on Friday. Plain and simple.
But that's not what we are trying to achieve. We are trying to GROW AUCTIONS, add $10K leagues, and a new Double Play live component. We need two weekends for all of this. And as part of this mix, we are allowing two times for the main event. But if anyone wants to draft ONE WEEK EARLIER than the rest, then at least there are some changes that need to be made from Week 2 of the mains. You just can't sit back and do the same draft back-to-back because you are right, things change during that week.
And nobody can have more than two main event teams. If we need to spell that out, we will. Heck, we're not even planning for that many teams to have multiple teams, but I'm now getting e-mails from several folks who love this idea and will be with me in Las Vegas for both weekends. So not all in the NFBC hate the multiple team idea.
And at the end of the day if it raises the grand prize to $125,000 or even $150,000, is that so bad? Not as long as we keep the family feel, and I think we can, while still having the 27th as the big live event. I get it.
Hope this helps. Thanks again Wayne and folks eagerly await your donation...I mean, return...to Las Vegas again. And hopefully the Auction Championship will work out for ya, too.
