Enhanced Free Agent Page Is Now Live

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Apr 01, 2010 1:02 pm

Take a look at your free agent pages now because I think an enhanced version is now available. The Fanball IT team did a great job working on some of the suggestions you gave us and has added most of them. The Player Search button for free agents will arrive tomorrow and a Player Search button for your team pages will arrive shortly after that. But we're making good progress on all we had planned to finish this week.

We now have the sortable categories you wanted, like % Owned and % Started. Take a look at this version and we look forward to your feedback.

It's been a goo day of enhancements and this latest one continues what we've been working on most of today. Thanks for your patience all.

I do like that when you sort by different categories it doesn't go to reload mode

Greg,

Nice job. We're getting closer. I like the enhancements. When can we expect to have the system speed up? The "Please be Patient While the System is Loading" still takes too long. Thanks

Much better! The drop player switch error is gone. Thanks.

A couple of things that I noticed. Some of the Free Agents seem to be missing with the newest release. I have some in my queue that are not listed now and should be. The other is the name sort on the pitchers seems to go on first name rather than last. Nice work though!

I would suggest one things to change to the free agent list and one thing to add to the free agent list to make the free agent list more useful. I would list all players as last name, first name rather than first name (b) last name. It makes it easier to sort the players. Last year you used to have a player ranking attached to each free agent. I did not see it here and I found it useful. You also had the year to date stats for a player and I found that useful as well. Thanks.

Nice. Everything looks like it's working well. The players aren't flipping around in my bids anymore. Hope we can see team's FAAB balances at some point. Certainly not a top priority for this week.

I like all of the suggestions and those all seem like minor tweaks that can easily be added after Week 1. I think we're in a MUCH BETTER spot today than we were earlier this week, but we always knew what we were going to do with these pages. We just needed to finalize so many other things first.

Kudos to John, Cory, Henry and his team for the hard work they did this week. We're not done everyone, but I think NFBC folks can now see how close we are to an improved product from past years. We'll keep improving it, so keep the suggestions -- and even the compliments (or criticisms) -- coming.

I see the UT designation has been dropped for position eligibility, you can do the same for MI and CI.

Copy and delete list functions aren't working properly. When I deleted one list it knocked out a similar one that I had just copied and saved.

Very nice -- you delivered as promissed! As a minor impovement I would prefer sort by last name.

I can't figure out how to save the list? Before there was a submit button, that is now gone. I just can't figure it out. Please help. Thanks.

My biggest complaint is there aren't better players available on the free agent lists.

Any way you can talk to the IT boys about helping me out with that one Greg? ;)

Seriously, nice improvements overnight. Keep tweaking and we'll be in great shape in no time.

Thanks for the big efforts from you & the rest of the Fanball team....keep up the good work.

Ok, got it, I think. Just doesn't show until the page is refreshed. I never entered a bid, but when I went back it showed up as a dollar. Which is fine and at that point it can be changed.

The "bug" involving the switching of players to be waived has not been fixed.

How do we add players to a watch list? Do we have a watch list option?

Just one suggestion in case it hasn't been mentioned:

There should be the option to add players to a watch list without having to bid on them. That way, won't have to search the entire list over and over. I couldn't locate a way to tag players for future reference.

Greg,

One feature the STATS site had that I found very useful was for starting pitchers (especially the FA's), when you clicked on their name, the player profile pop-up showed who their next probable start was against. Is that possible to incorporate here as well?

Thanks,

Jason

Getting better Greg -- any chance your team could:

(1) introduce the "tracker" checkbox to track Free Agents, and I just thought of this now, and...

(2) just thought of this, but I would LOVE it if your Programmers could figure out a way to automatically check your other leagues, and IF a player you've "checked" as one to track is a free agent there too, to automatically check (or "uncheck", as the case may be) that free agent as well. That would be fantastic, and would save a LOT of time for those of us with multiple leagues.
