Team Gannon Update!

Post by Glenneration X » Sun Apr 25, 2010 3:17 am

I'm guessing it was a good call to expect that apology with a hangover afterall.

I guess Lance deserves a pass on wondering where his post was due to the practically duplicate thread....anyone could misplace their post after a week with two threads of such similar titles.

Which brings up another point.....why the hell were you even looking for your post after this thread's been dead for a week? Ahhhh....the joys of bottled recreation.

Glenn

It's okay, we saw the true Lance there with his post. Look at the time of the post on a Saturday night and you can imagine how much alcohol was involved. Lance has found his new outlets to play in and thus the parting of ways won't be so hard. Enjoy your other games in the future Lance and please don't be so hard on those owners as you've been on me. And think before you post on those other boards.

lance - get the apology post ready and this one probably deserves a phone call apology as well I don't want to speak for Greg but Lance doesn't have to call me or even apologize because it will have carried no weight with me and wouldn't be accepted. I wish Lance the best in the one satellite league he's in with us this year and the best of luck in his future leagues in other events.

As the person who started this thread I feel responsible for this mess. For that I apologize.

I started the thread with no malice or no point to prove beyond we need to correct something. I started because there was an issue that needed to be corrected. If you review these message boards over the last 5 years you will see hundreds of these types of posts. You will also see people rave about the customer service because guess what they resolve these kinds of things quickly. I made a serious error in judgment in thinking that we were still there. It was obvious that things had gone nuclear regarding early season issues and you can debate whether that helped or hurt get this turned around.

I am very bothered by the fact that I guess all issues go nuclear now.

As far as Gannon I think some mistakes were made here and to me that is absolutely no big deal. Tried something new and guess what new things occasionally get off to bad starts or God forbid FAIL>.. Count me as a guy who is glad when a mistake is acknowledged and corrected= good thing.

If the way we judge the people in this game is now not to accept any mistakes or mishaps then I want no part of it going forward.

Chest, are you saying we didn't resolve the issue quickly? We resolved it the day you started this thread. As Greg and I have both said, "dead" teams are going to happen every year regardless of whether they have Rich Gannon's name on them or someone else's. That doesn't make it right and as I said it's not something we want but it's a reality in every fantasy league. I've seen it in local leagues and I've seen it in national contests. It happens. But with regard to this issue we resolved it the day we found out there was a problem. If that's a sign our customer service is lacking I'm not sure what to say.

If we lose the ability to have civil discussions of things that need to be corrected then we all lose. The exact reason people rave about your customer service is that you solve problems when brought to your attention. You all did that here just like always. I will leave the first week of the season for other people to debate. I will continue to point out things not working and you will continue to fix them. That is a good thing. A week's worth of struggles at the beginning of the year is not NEARLY enough for you all to lose the benefit of the doubt.

I lied Tom I read it and actually see where you could have misunderstood. I meant we were still at a spot where we actually pointed things out that just did not have to get ugly or in Fanball sucks mode. I made that mistake and for the 3rd time will apologize.

The issue has been resolved and we've all moved on. No further apologies necessary.
