SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that Edinson Volquez has been suspended 50 games for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
Finally, the big reveal. Volquez is on the 60-day disabled list as he recovers from Tommy John surgery and isn't expected to be healthy until well after the mid-July All-Star break. He can begin serving the suspension while on the DL, though, so this whole ordeal shouldn't cut into his playing time.
Is this a joke? Am I reading this right?
So if you're on the DL and expected to recover in three months, please, go ahead and shoot some PED. If they don't catch you, you'll be back in a month and throwing fire and maybe get a comeback player of the year award and fat extension...if they do, well you're back to original schedule as the 50 game suspension is being applied WHILE YOU CAN'T PITCH.
Take that, honest hard working injury plagued player trying to make it back.
