In case you haven't read about it. Apparently the center field board is 65 feet high, too.

That makes 14 HR so far this year for Stanton. I'm glad to pump him and rev those FAAB engines 3 weeks early, as Stanton is safely tucked away on our St. Louis main event team. Vroom, vroom!

hate to burst your bubble, but unless he fixes his contact rate, he will be another kyle blanks (or worse). he's a bust this year. maybe next year too. he will tie up roster spots and be a zero this year. he was available in my main event league last week and you know what i bid...yep, zero

oh i don't know; ugla and car go have had some pretty low contact rates and have been seen on some good teams. i will say that i might be more worried about brian mcann and his contact rate if i owned him. after putting on his goggles today he was happy to report he could see everything but a baseball very clearly.

A somewhat interesting Stanton story. A girl who works for us has dated him a bit. She asks if I would want a signed baseball. She asked do you want it personalized- I say no. It comes back personalized and says his agent was there and he was scared to death b/c his agent insists upon personalizing every ball where he signs the sweet spot. It starts already. What do you have to say about this Scott Boras?

I realize this is Minors vs Majors, But the contact rate is not that bad when considering today's ballplayer and its getting better.
Stanton 100 abs, 31K, and 26BB
Kemp, 124ab 34K and 13 BB
Longoria 114ab, 27K , 15 BB
Wright , 104ab, 37K, 24BB
J Upton, 119ab, 43K , 14BB
Votto 107ab, 30K, 22BB
Reynolds 109ab, 37K, 19BB

Reynolds 109ab, 37K, 19BB A lot of Stanton's BB's are either completely intentional or at least quasi-intentional. Pitchers there are just not pitching to him.

Reynolds 109ab, 37K, 19BB Nope, it's really bad. Ryan Howard level. The difference here is that the other guys you mentioned will fix theirs in a larger sample. I don't think you could say that about Stanton. He did the same thing last year.
Also, you're comparing minor league stats to major league stats. He will K more in the majors.

Stanton will be a big time fantasy player- maybe not this year, but next and for years to come, baring injury.

Stanton might provide this power that is not available.- then again, he might not even get a call up. He is worth a couple of dollars in any league in which he was drafted and dropped IMHO. BUT I wouldnt carry him past mid June if not called up.
