It would be a good idea to have the tech team set up the slow drafts so that you could pre draft ONE round at a time and have it stop if it got back to you again. Many of the drafts last year went super slow because people were afraid to set to AUTO and have the computer take over if we couldn't get back for the subsequent pick in time.

Great suggestion. This will make the difference between these things being FUN and not so fun.

That's a pretty good idea but it would only work if every team used the pre draft function. You could still have one slow-poke team slowing everything down.

If the IT people are unaware how to do this, tell them to get in contact with the folks at myfantasyleague.com.
Heck, even if they are aware, they should still check out MFL to see the capabilities of fantasy software. I've used their site for football, numerous times, and absolutely love it; there's so much more for an owner compared to all the other sites out there.

We did create Slow Drafts in football, so we are set up to run them in baseball. This function was not created in time for football, but it was suggested over on those boards as well. I'll add this to the list of things to do and see if we can get this done. My goal is to get the Slow Drafts unveiled early this off-season and get you folks drafting in pay leagues earlier than ever before. Be ready.

Greg- you previously mentioned an overall competition or prize for the slow draft leagues. Where, if anywhere, does that stand?

Gotta finish 100+ drafts yet for almost 2,000 teams in football first. But we'll see about all of that by late September. I'll give it some thought and it's a possibility. We'll see but I like the idea if we don't price ourselves out of this area. That's the key.

Adding the feature of being able to preset one round at a time on auto, would make me sign up for more slow draft leagues. It would make things much better.
An overall competition for the slow drafts, especially if it raised the price, would make me play in fewer slow draft leagues. I'd still probably do a couple because I'm addicted, but it holds no interest for me personally.

Low talkers hits on a point I noticed while drafting quite a few slow drafts. The popularity of the slows at $125 or $325(?) may have had to do with the fact that they were NOT associated with an overall contest. There were quite a few that thought the Main Event was not the best value for their $. The O/A being a long shot at best only chipped away at the league prize. Winning the league however would bring in $1000 or $1300(for 3 places) which would THEN be parlayed into a Main entry. Playing with the house $ then makes the Main Event playable.
Just an observation ...

Just an observation ... I would prefer that the slow DCs are not part of an overall competition. The league winnings get watered down too much and the overall is nothing more than a lottery. I would leave the $125 and $325 levels on their own.
I may be interested in a DC league at a higher buyin such as $1000 with fewer leagues where the overall is not so much of a crapshoot. This could be similar to the auction championship last year or the NFFC DC championship this year. When there are 5-10 leagues I feel it seems like winning the extra money you invest towards the overall is acheivable.

I would sign up for several slow draft league if there was a scoring optimization rule. If I could draft my team and not have to pay attention to submitting a lineup twice a week it would be a huge help. People could essentially do as many leagues as they want and not have to worry about managing additional teams.
I'm not sure how the scoring would work since player performance is not converted into points (like football). Perhaps someone smarter than I could come up with a workable solution. I'd assume stats would have to be converted to points, thus spawning a whole new NFBC game. Come to think of it, I like where this is headed.

For the record, I would LOVE a slow draft overall option. Why not? You can still run other slow drafts without the overall prizes, so it isn't an either or situation.
