Starlin Castro is impressive.
On the Cubs, Castro is like a $100 bill at the bottom of a port-a-potty. But, he will outplay his draft spot, despite his surroundings.
Tim Lincecum says he wasn't thinking about a no-hitter as he was pitching one in the 7th inning last night. What a load. When pitchers say something like this, it gets an immediate  from me.
It's like matching the first four numbers from Powerball, not matching the others, and saying afterwards that winning millions was never a thought.
The Cincinnati Reds said in a statement that they do not endorse criminal activity.
Really?
How politically correct has our system become?
In other news, do not look for Macy's to be a Cincinnati Reds sponsor in the near future.
Who knows? Maybe the minor leagues would have prepared Leake better for his 'shopping' trip.
If Macy's does decide to sponsor the Reds, a commercial could go like this-
Drew Stubbs and Leake are browsing on the t-shirt aisle. Stubbs is complaining about reading pitchers and getting thrown out at 2nd base. Leake picks up $60 worth of t-shirts and has Stubbs be the pitcher. Leake explains that Stubbs is not going on first movement and tells Stubbs to look over his shoulder at him. When he does, Leake and the t-shirts are heading out the door.
Jim Hendry gave away a lot of Cubs prospects for Matt Garza. He had to. Hendry cannot wait for the future, simply because, he will not be a part of it.
The Cubs have already gone too far with Hendry. If the Soriano signing wasn't enough of an indicator, the Bradley signing should have put it over the top.
But, as with all GM's, their rope is long. Of course, by the time the team realizes it, that team is dangling in a noose at the end of that rope.
Don't feel sorry for Hendry and his overspending, 'we'll worry about it later' ways, he is prime to get a Government job.
When I see a player more horizontal than vertical, I know it won't be long before that player hits the d.l.
Sam Fuld is living on borrowed time.
If I were to start a wiffle ball team, I would want Livan Hernandez to be my pitcher.
Ryan Raburn played second base last night.
Nine more games there and he can lead in strike outs at two different positions.
Jeff Mathis is wondering why he isn't getting more playing time.
And had a talk with Mike Sciosia.
I'm hoping Sciosia explained to Mathis that if he loses 20 pounds, he'll be hitting his weight.
