Dyv, where are all these Taveras bashers???

I drafted him around the 25th round (was praying no one else took him) and figured if he panned out, he was going to be the STEAL of ALL drafts.

Who is laughing now. ;)

60 Sbs is not out of the realm for a late round flyer. Now batting leadoff (Garner is an idiot for waiting this long), throw in a ton of runs scored.

Now Luke Scott..... HAHA!

:D :D :D

:D :D :D NO GLOATING! I'm actually far far more satisfied seeing him have 3 outfield assists to homeplate in 3 consecutive games last week. Three times in a row gunning down someone at the dish? That is what can keep him up in the bigs even if he pulls a little slump. I'd take a happy 35 stolen bases with a .270 batting avg. and never ask for more.

I got him in the 28th round... which has gone a long ways towards keeping me competitive waiting for Berkman and Bonds to get back. Wily has been a great great help. He also causes problems with who to play if my squad stays and gets healthy. I had to sit Raul Ibanez this week and next week's decision with Berkman coming back will prove even more difficult... at least I have options. Can't complain there.

HE WAS A FREE AGENT in new york league 7. I bid 361 on him and would have gotten him in any league he was avalible in except new york 7.

In this league he went over 400 and is worth every dollar. It makes me sick every time he steals a base. I WOULD SAY 45 steals seems right and a 270 to 290 avg. BAD [ass] ANGELS

He was available in Chicago # 2, too (according to the % Owned information, he must still be available in one league as he is 95.2% owned) and I popped big bucks to get him.

I like his eight steals since I put him in (Week 2). I missed his blistering first week (opted for Vizquel instead...not bad as he had four steals). His BA since then is only .224 and his OBP is only .298. I hope he improves those stats or he could be in the Alex Sanchez class (but with better defense).
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

In all honesty, the guy needs to become a better hitter or he may not keep the job fulltime. Speed only takes you so far (and watching him circle some fly balls is fun :D )
