Tyler Walker Week

The number one FAAB addition in almost every league was Tyler Walker.

He was selected in all but two leagues. In those two leagues he was grabbed last week for $74 & $11.

Walker went for as high as $409 (LV3) and as little as $42 (NY2). The high losing bid was $264. This bid would have been successful in 12 of 18 leagues but not in CHI4.

In two leagues, the losing bid missed by a Maxwell Smart-ish difference of $1. They were $172-$171 in CHI4 and $181-$180 in LV6.

My unofficial count makes Tyler Walker the 943rd closer in San Francisco this year - I may be a tad high. It would be interesting to see how much FAAB money has been spent on all the closers-de-jour in San Francisco.

Tyler Walker just lead a group of Mike Wood or Brian Fuentes or even Jason DuBois (who still doesn't have a full time job) as the players who were most bid on and had the most bid on them. What is far stranger is the leagues where Tino Martinez or Coco Crisp were even available to be bid upon.

My league has some very interesting drops this week:

Haren, Blanton, Jerome Williams, Holliday, Lamb, and C. Guzman.

Perhaps these are players whom may not be able to help you now, but certainly later. A shame I have 4 DL's and very little room to manuver for one or two of these guys.

Would love to grab him, but with Escobar & Benson in complete limbo, most of my efforts have concentrated on SP's and the hope of picking up a diamond in the rough (Padilla is also a FA). Besides, my team's biggest weakness right now is SB's, and perhaps runs - need someone from the 2-hole; preferably a MI. I've also got Overbay, Chavez, and Arod at the corners and HR and RBI aren't a huge worry. Sure, replace Chavez....but then I run the risk of Chavez having a blowout week.
