Have you tried Pyramid Hef? That is the best. Widmer is a good clone.
Pyramid and Widmer are good NA Hefe's, but Germans are much better - look for Schneider Weisse - one of THE best
I know the more sophisticated crowd drinks imported Hefs but they really taste like rotten fruit to me. I like the American ones.

I believe I saw Pyramid in one of the bars in the Ceasars' casino. That's a decent reason to get lost in that place.

bjoak - it's probably the higher level of coriander that the imports use - perhaps an acquired taste, but try the dark wheat beers - terrific flavor and not spiced :D

Pabst Blue Ribbon anyone?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

PBR is way underrated. I'd drink it over Bud, Miller, Coors any day.

Two sleeper picks.

Alexei Ramirez, CWS

Pending the completion of a physical, the White Sox signed Cuban defector Alexei Ramirez to a four year contract this winter. Ramirez, 26, primarily played SS in Cuba but will compete at 2b this spring with Juan Uribe and Danny Richar. In Cuba, Ramirez hit .332 with 87 home runs the last seven years and plays Gold Glove caliber defense. With Richar only hitting .205 vs. lefty’s last season and the Sox hoping to trade Juan Uribe, Alexei Ramirez presents a good option for your late round third MI with power potential that won’t hurt your avg.

Laynce Nix, MIL

Yes, that Laynce Nix. This past Texas Ranger never lived up to his prospect label and is now hoping to get one last shot with the Milwaukee Brewers. Nix, still just 27 years old, hit 24 home runs and had a .968 OPS with AAA Nashville last year. With newly signed center fielder Mike Cameron serving a 25 game suspension to start the season, Nix will have one month to prove he isn’t just a lifetime AAA player.

Russel , IL

Personal information.

My name is Russel and I live in Illinois. I have been in a local Rotisserie AL auction league since 1991. Last season I participated in my first NFBC draft, $1000 satellite, and this year I will be in the main event for the first time. Although I haven’t taken part, I have been an avid reader of the message board over the last year and have enjoyed many of the topics that have been presented. I look forward to increasing my participation this spring and meeting some of the people that I’ve read.

OK Greg here's mine. Asdrubal Cabrera

Asdrubal came up late in the season and took the 2nd base job from Barfield. In 45 games he hit 283 , with 3 homers and 22 rbi's.Asdrubal is just 22 years old and a solid defender which will keep him in the lineup.Asdrubal even batted 2nd for the Indians againest the Red Sox in last years playoffs, and should bat second this year in that Clevland powerful lineup.Last year Asdrubal's final numbers between the minors and majors were vey impressive , 295 bavg, 9 homers,75 rbi's , and 108 runs scored.Asdrubal also has good speed stealing 23 bases.I just drafted Asdrubal in the Shwan Childs league in the 21st round , that is great value for a guy who can go for 10 homers 75 rbi's , 90 runs ,and a 280 bavg, throw in 15 steals .

He has the talent and he will prove it this year that he belongs.

Fandingdong - please focus your manlove on someone else...please. I don't want anything to do with you. In fact, you are the reason I'm not playing in the mixed auction. Too creepy for me.
Oh boy, not the "scare tactics". Hehehe. Doesn't have anything to do with you beating me in the auction. You did a great job winning the league. Again, good job.

Short of that, your continued focus on me is creepy. Move on. U won't get any manlove from me. Thanks.

Scott Hairston SD LF

Now the magic age of 27, he was a top prospect for awhile with the DBacks and simply fell out of favor after a few trial rounds. The change of scenery to San Diego did him well with 8-20 .287 in just 87AB. He'll get plenty of opportunity this year with the Padres and could wind up with 21-88 .280 season with 5 SB's. Not a bad Round 20 pick if you need to add some pop. Think 2006 Juan Rivera here....
