Fair Trade??? Opinions Wanted....

12 team mixed league, standard 5X5

Khalil Greene for Jim Edmonds?

I know my thoughts, just wondering what anybody else thinks.

The team getting Edmonds flipped out because the trade was vetoed.

He wrote the rotowire guys and they stated it was a fair trade so he feels it is ok. He's going to quit the league because of this and it is opening day!

Thoughts anyone??

Thoughts anyone?? Wow... How could it possibly be voided?

I void trades for a living and that is not remotely close.

Unless you believe Edmonds is really washed up and Greene is due to breakout...it's not a close trade.

K. Greene has 15 hr, 70-70 potential...career .260 avg, and can't steal much.

J. Edmonds has 40 hr, 100-100 potential...career .291 avg, and can't steal much.

I for one would lean towards a veto...but may let it slide...OF isn't as deep as people talk, and SS has talent. (add in ballpark, and surrounding cast)

I'd take Edmonds in that trade in a heartbeat...and I would never trade him for Greene.

~Lance Greene could easily be worth more this year. And he may not. Based on that, you can't void the trade.

Many expect Greene to not have a freak injury this year and put up 25-90.

Have no idea what the NFBC highs and lows were this year, but I'd bet Greene went as early as 8 or 9 and Edmonds went as late as 10 or 11 (in my league I took Edmonds 8 and Greene went 11, not terribly far apart). From that standpoint you almost have to let it go. Obviously, some people value Greene more.

Well, I would have vetoed it. Position scarcity is great during an initial draft, but afterwards it doesn't mean a lot. Edmonds is a far superior player, based on past performance. He has proven himself year after year, while Greene has not yet proven himself - even once.

for sure this is a vetoed trade, the park is huge and when did greene all of a sudden become an allstar.edmunds puts up the numbers every year hurt or not and his supporting cast is excellent.vote it down.

A well-known source for projections has Edmonds at .270/29/96/94/5 and Greene at .263/23/82/64/5. Pretty close in 4 categories (Avg/HR/RBI/SB), wide discrepancy in Runs due to surrounding cast. So that projected breakout for Greene, combined with Edmonds health issue (I don't care what anybody says, something's just not right when your arm is constantly numb) and the fact that Edmonds hasn't had more than 500 AB's in 5 years makes this in my opinion a legit trade.

I predict Uggla out performs Greene...middle infield.

I would veto a Uggla for Edmonds trade.

Would trading an approximate $12-$15 player (Greene) for an approximate $17-$20 player (Edmonds) be considered soooo lopsided that a difference of around $5 (max) would undermine a league with $3120 in total salaries?

I guess I don't understand the basis of a veto unless there was evidence of collusion.

I guess magazine auction values have too much of an impact.

Please...some year soon...go back and rate these bullcrap magazines they pump out 3 months too soon.
