Well, I dodged a big bullet in the main event - was all ready to take him in round 6, but the guy before me did. I got him in the $650 LV Mixed, so I'll have to re-evaluate strategy there.

I don't feel bad for myself - I feel bad for the fans. Everything we've read, everything we've been told, was all a lie apparently.

I don't have him, but I admit to looking at him thinking if he fell far enough down, he might be worth the risk...I guess that is one small positive out of my league going hog-wild on closers early in that I did not get a chance to shoot myself in the foot.

But it really burns me up that now he says he was pitching through pain all spring...I know the managers have to mess with the other teams heads a bit, but don't they realized the big picture impacts on the real world of Fantasy Baseball....

Greg, you are in big with MLB...can't we fine the Dodgers or something?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

any more brilliant insights?

any more brilliant insights? fandingdong - you have to make decisions based on the info you have at the time. at the time, no...d.lee wouldn't be a first round selection of mine.

any more brillant insight...your team must be doing good for you to get the courage to speak out to me unsolicited. is that true? don't worry, i (and others) have complete confidence that you will screw it up going forward. carry on. thanks.

Fandango was most recently seen posting this nonsense on our league message board:

NICK MARKAKIS age 22 Posted By: Fandango

some would say he is the next albert pujols....he raced through minor leagues in 1 year (just like pujols) was invited to spring training and played so well he HAD to make the team (just like pujols) he started his first game with a HR (just like Pujols) and played to well that he couldnt be benched (just like pujols)....im just surprised that not one person in this league besides TEAM Fandango bid 1 penny on NICK....hmmm this isnt football, the free agent pool gets weaker and weaker every week in baseball, dont know what you are all saving your money for.....

Kind enough to teach us all a lesson about FAAB and drawing the obvious comparisons of Nick Markakis to Pujols....I love it!

[/QUOTE]I don't actually know Gordon at all. But I needed someone else to laugh at your remarks with. It will also help me find it later this season when I need to ask you how Markakis stacks up against Pujols then, lol.

Just trolling around and find the humor in Gekko getting bashed by saying that Derrick Lee isn't worth a first round pick. I agreed with Gekko before the injury, but now...
