How many SB's did/do you expect from Pierre this year??

Although he has some wheels, I highly doubt he will be running as much with Dusty as his manager.

Pierre had almost the same amount of SB's as the entire Cubs team last year, so for those expecting 50+ steals again, I don't see it happening.

imagine life without sb's as a category ???   ahhh, life is good. Substitute anything, i dont know - infield hits. At least then I wouldnt feel compelled to chase the stinking category and ruin my season with chumps like Wilkerson and J.Jones and C.Patterson.

Corey Patterson has destroyed some fantasy teams.

He went 9th rd to 13th rd and plays once a week.

I was lucky enough to miss him in the 7 nfbc events , but in my home A.L. league auction , the bidding stoped at 16 and guess who has him.

Left the draft pretty good , but dont like to take risk players and went againest my rule.I deserve everything i get.

eddie$ - i thought I had squelched all risk and felt fortunate to get patterson in rd 16. My downfall began earlier taking Wilkerson and Jones earlier than I should just for their 15 sb potential.

Relax guys, its like week 2. No need to fall apart at this point, the stats to date are nearly meaningless. Gordon its been 40 degrees in Chicago. We don't want Pierre pulling a hammy in the cold anyway. Btw we started our draft the way you had hoped to, Wright/Pierre. Our plan B was Bay for round 1 as well. Dusty Baker was bragging 1.5 years ago that Patterson could steal 50-60 bases, so I don't think he really has a thing against running. Unfortunately, as it turns out, Patterson couldn't get on base 50-60 times in a season....

It is early and those guys will produce for you...I am going to struggle all year with SB's and would love to have Pierre. I took Teixeira with my first pick and as expected Crawford, Bay, Figgins, Suzuki, Reyes, and Rollins were gone before I had my next pick. I had a choice (in my mind) between A. Ramirez and Pierre. Pierre and Furcal were still out there and I thought one would fall to me coming around the corner...I was wrong...I ended up with Lugo in the fourth...as steals went so early along with Saves, Lugo is my only big SB threat...I have J. Reed and Matos, but outside of Carlos Lee, the rest of my team would come in second in a race with my fat cousin Edna....

Although it was only a satellite, getting Hanley Ramirez in the 27th round was quite nice for my team. Expect him to hopefully get 20+ steals.

I am actually watching the Padres/Marlins game right now and Mike Jacobs just stole 2 bags off of Mike "I Can't Throw" Piazza....Maybe my main SB guy this year will be Jacobs

Edwards Kings, I too have Tex, do you think he will get a HR sometime this year? Heck, Wllingham has gotten 2 for my team! Same with Ryan Howard, can't wait for him and Tex to get going so I can get out of the bottom 1/3 of HR's.

GG, I am sure sooner than later Pierre will get going......and you can start calling me a scumbag once football season starts ;)

Pierre just stole 3rd base in the 1st inning. There you go Gordon!

And again, 3rd base in the 3rd inning.

Tex will be there...the only question is will it be 40 or 45....

Just flipped over to the Bucs/LA game and saw Bay steal 2nd.....so the drought is over Gordon! Now they will probably go on a tear and steal 10 this week for you.

Dusty Baker has already stated that once the weather warms up, they'll be running more so I wouldn't worry too much about Pierre this early in the season.

Of course I'm taking that quote to heart since Pierre was my 2nd pick overall  . 40+ SB is still in reach I would imagine.

Wilkerson on the other hand.....

pierre will be fine...

I was SHOCKED to see jacobs get 2 steals... Quite a pleasant surprise for my auction team. I am doing well in steals there not thanks to Podsednik, but thanks to Jacobs and Rolen I knew Rolen was going to bounce back (got him in all 4 of my nfbc teams) but to get speed back from him is just like winning the daily lotto...

Hope you are wrong, but Markakis does appear to be the darling. Still, I need either Matos or C. Burke to get regular playing time mainly for the SB's.

Personally I am not quite ready to cede that if you are in the top overall right now, you are a 'great mind'. I think after May or so it is fair to start saying that

Everyone thought I was smoking something when I said Bay won't be worth a 1st round pick. Its still far too early to pass judgement, but he is on pace for just 21 HR and 54 RBIs despite batting .300, mainly because he is also on pace for 140 bb's.

Why pitch to him? ... even more so when Craig Wilson cools off, no protection at all. Does any pitcher fear Burnitz or Randa? That's why consensus HR and RBI totals were far too high. And he isn't even injured yet, which was part II of my rationale.

Of course, little consolation to me, as my entire team is slumping. I can't remember the last time Manny drove in a run.
