They really didn't have that type of role back then, did they?

Always been meaning to ask you this question: What was the deal with your Topps card (forget the year) where the head shot was not actually a real picture but seemed more like a painted or drawn picture? I am dying to know the story behind that as I don't ever remember seeing another one (player) like it.
