Week 2 - Gekko Jeopardy

Post by poopy tooth » Fri Dec 29, 2006 6:52 am

There is only one reason why Markakis won't qualify...he hit 16 HR last year. I think he has a shot at 30 this year in Baltimore. He had 492 ABs, which should increase, as well as some of his doubles (25) turning to HR. I know 25 isn't 40, but Markakis should see an increase in responsibility this year, is only 23 and most importantly of all...doesn't Baltimore have to have something go right for them??? They have thrown enough darts - something has to stick!

In all seriousness, make sure you move Markakis up on your boards...don't want to lose out because you let him slip into the middle rounds and someone got a 28-34 HR guy with 90+ RBI...

Eli,

Where do you find all those quotes at?

Anyway, just remember you heard it here first. Lane has a decent enough Spring to make the team and gets his confidence built as he crushes some early HR's in April. His playing time increases as he plays CF, (Scott is in RF). Burke becomes the 4th OF and frequent 2B giving Biggio much rest. Lane gets 500 AB's with 30+ HR's.

Everyone needs to move him up a few rounds on their pre-draft rankings. You've convinced me. I just moved him from the 34th round to the 31st. Thanks.

WHO IS BOBBY ABREU? MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT EVEN PICKING UP HE ONLY HIT 15 DINGERS LAST YEAR!!!! HE WILL BE A FULL TIME YANKEE THIS YEAR, SLID IN AT THE END OF THE SEASON ALMOST UNNOTICED AND HAD A CHANCE TO GET ACCLIMATED. WITH ALL THE NEW YORK STARS HE IS NOT THE GO TO GUY,,,HE SEEMS TO PERFORM BETTER IN LOW PROFILE SITUATIONS. LOOK AT HIS PAST STATS,,,,,AND DID I MENTION HE IS STILL THE GUY WITH THAT SWEET SWING IN THAT HOME RUN DERBY THING A WHILE BACK!!!
