If the NFBC were Shawshank would Captain Hook be "Red" the older wise gentleman showing newbies how it worked around here...

This game is sooooo damn easy three months into the season!
If Barfield or Kendrick would have had their breakout seasons this year, would that have made some other league "the league you want to be in"?
Saying "Phillips in the 12th. Thats CRAAAZY" in March or early April and repeating it now would have carried some weight. As it is, its just Monday morning quarterbacking.

I see Captain Hook more as Brooks, someone who has become "institutionalized" by the NFBC. So much so that they let him have his own poker room (library) in the basement of NFBC headquarters.

No Monday morning QB'ing here. I would've had the same thoughts even if Phillips was a bust right now. I guess since I was fortunate enough to pick him up last season and watch him play a lot after that, I'm led to believe he was a lot more valuable than the late selection. Dan, I'm not one of those people to say I told you say after the fact. I'm honest and straight forward and these were just my thoughts.
Shawshank...one of the best movies ever. Amazing it was from a short story by Stephen King. I just hope Greg and Tom never take the path of the warden!

sorry i glossed over your initial post, i've been working on football stuff recently.
you say that i'm beating you and wondering outloud if it's because i'm in a weaker league. come on chris, you're better than that. you're season has gone up in smoke and now you are trying to blame the league you're in???
at the draft i got good value (at least a FULL round after ADP) with:
Brett Myers 18 spots of value
Carlos Quentin 19 spots of value
A.J. Pierzynski 41 spots of value
Jason Bartlett 70 spots of value
why aren't you bringing up those players? sounds a bit like sour grapes or maybe sour gummy bears to me.

lol, Gekko. This whole post was totally misunderstood. I was trying to ponder the question of what everyone considers a better drafter. I am going to go back and re-edit my post to take out the entire example. DOUGBOYS and others continue to focus on the example, not the main question. I was just trying to illustrate a point. I think your team is great - and you and I reviewed it on draft day and I commented on several great pickups at value positions.

i know that, which is why it's odd that you only chose to focus on phillips and not any of the other "value play" players i mentioned above.
