Exhibit 9,234,123 of the meaninglessness of Pitcher WIns

Post by Liquidhippo » Sat Sep 29, 2007 3:28 pm

If I hear one more TV commentator even hint that there is even one modicum of significance in a 'pitching win', I'm going to need therapy. I've lost track of the great pitching outings just today, no Win for any of those pitchers. Then Mussina gives up 9 in 5 innings and gets the Win.

I've heard some state that agents actually use this stat in contract negotiations. Hard to believe, but if true, that's comical.

Thanks Shawn. Greg, It sounds like the baseball season is wearing on you. Did you avoid all the injuries in football so far?

Funny you should ask...

First Round Pick - Steven Jackson

Second Round Pick - Brandon Jacobs

How's your team holding up?

How's your team holding up? My $1300 auction team has 550 points after three weeks. I wish I had that team in the main event!

In the main, I lost Jacoby Jones!! My team isn't playing well, but it least they can walk on the field! I need Brees and Tomlinson to play a lot better.

550 points...well, in that case I won't reveal my point total, somehow my team is 2-1, but its all smoke & mirrors...will be fortunate to finish .500 there.

While this season has worn on me, I'm lookin' forward to the draft already next spring. I assume you'll be in Vegas again?
