2008 mock draft

Post by Chest Rockwell » Mon Oct 01, 2007 10:15 am

You regulars know the drill- mock it up through lets say 15 rounds- don't join if you do not check the boards on a regular basis to stay on it.

Leave a spot for Edward Kings, Spy, Doughboys, God loves you, KJ Duke, Captain Hook and Sambito who do it every offseason other than that jump in.

Pick one Chest Rockwell- Hanley Ramirez SS FLA

I have a problem with Reyes being the number 2 pick.... when you have arod and pujols out there i know sbs are important but you need the stud hitters....

I took 2nd in the Mag II League (102.5 to 103.5), so I can't be completely retarded. But, I will admit, I was dead last in steals in that league and that may have been weighing on my mind a little.

Chest,

Glad you're taking the bull by the horns and starting the mock early this year. A couple of notes, Capn' Hook wasn't involved last year ( I don't think he liked the lack of timeliness of the picks).

Also Mark from Tradesman Kettleers PM'ed me and wants the 9th pick.

With the 5th pick I'll take David Wright

I followed it last year, but didn't jump in. Since Chest reserve me a spot, I'll come in at #10 and the Dodgers #1 starter- Johan Santana!

It'll be very interesting to see what ends up happening with Hunter and Santana.

Liriano, Garza, Baker, Slowey, and Bonser/Silva would be a fine rotation. Santana would be worth a lot more now than at the trade deadline. Especially if they make it well known that he is available. The Dodgers, Reds, Rockies, Diamondbacks, and Devil Rays all have Major League ready prospects that would net them Santana. But, all those teams except for the Dodgers couldn't or wouldn't extend a contract with Santana.

Enter Boston. They have the means to extend Santana and Minnesota would be more than happy to take Buccholz and/or Ellsbury. Sounds feasable anyway. I'm lovin' the off season rumor mill already :D
