The Mitchell Report

We've heard all the rumors about Ivan, Sheffield, Tejada, etc. But who will be a surprise name? With a steady downtrend in power numbers during the last couple of steroid testing years I'm going to go with Michael Young. I'm also thinking a lot of pitchers will be outed as well. Any other nominations?

This move today may cinch the fact that we'll see Tejada's name in lights tomorrow.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the Astros have acquired Miguel Tejada from the Orioles for outfielder Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate, and third baseman Michael Costanzo.

My suspicion list would be Jason Bay, Bill Hall, Giles & Giles. I don't see the big swing in power rating on my numbers from M Young (or the missed time), so he wouldn't be on my list.

Big Z is his own drug, Wood is probably addicted to painkillers. Today's story makes it sound like the collective bargaining agreement may prevent a lot of names from coming out. Too bad.

For entertainment purposes only, I would like to see Brian Roberts, Juan Pierre, and Joel Zumaya on steroids. Roberts would have a Brady Anderson type year. Pierre would be a lot more fun to watch if he can hit an occasional ball past an outfielder. Zumaya on steroids vs. a Nick Punto type just amuses me. :D

Rolen and A Reyes wouldn't take his shipment so they've been in his doghouse, unlike Carpenter and Pujols. :D

Surprise player named?

Bob Uecker.
