Last Minute Changes You Might Regret

Post by KJ Duke » Mon Sep 26, 2005 11:21 am

NL Auction --- 3-way battle for 1st.

Starting Kip Wells, benching G Carrera.

Need the W's (2 starts this week). He was on the bench for last week's 2 IP/ 8 ER disaster. Another blowup could cost me 1, maybe 2 pts.

Anyone else with tough calls out there?

Not as much of a difficult decision but one that would not be made in any week but week 26.

Last week I picked up Lohse and Helling specifically for this week. Lohse has a single start against KC. Helling has two starts against Cincy & at Pitt. They have replaced my two closers giving me 9 SPs this week with at least two of them scheduled for two start pitchers and two more who may get added starts on Sunday. I have 71 saves with 75 above me and 64 below me - movement all but impossible. My Ks, Wins, ERA & WHIP could all move.

In NY7, the money battle will change daily. The standings are:

1. 104.5 SB PhillyCheeseSteaks

2. 99.5 Go Baby Go

3. 99.5 Heads

4. 99.0 Cream & Clear, Inc (my team)

5. 97.0 Bad Boys

Starting Cliff Floyd- could very well see him shutting it down while we are in a dog fight for a point in runs scored.

Benching Matt Morris despite his encouraging performance last time out.

Being in 2nd in Ny#5 2nd overall Had to go with gut Saw that Cabrera was out of Marlin lineup and with team in a shambles and rainouts a possibility benched him and put Tyner Minn 7 home games left and can move up in overall standings with SBs on same token started AJ thinking he would pitch a gem to prove a point but he was sent home could be a blessing in disguise Went with all Chi Sox and Indians in case of playoff game and actually starting 2 Rockie pitchers need wins Cook 2 starts and Sun Kim

It is a shame that one of you 2 guys will fall short and lose out on so much money. Congrats on a great run by both of you all. We tried our hardest to crack that top 5 for a few months and you all were just way too formidable. Good luck the rest of the way.
