There are better teams than Spy's in our satellite. Some NFBC Vets in the mix including Spyhunter. They just never saw me coming.
Next draft will be more difficult now that Spy decided to publish my team and used a lamb excuse;" For some reason the league message board won't let me write anything." such BS!
Ya know what- I don't feel bad taking his money. He still gonna need a miracle.

Rajai (1 hr in 190 ab)
Lopez (9 hr in 603 ab)
Victorino (12 hr last year)
Teahen HAD 7 in 544 AB!!!
Ruiz had 6
I am not sure exactly how studly you think everyone will be this year, but, unless many of your players double their HR/AB you are in a world of hurt.
Just for fun, I put the teams through RotoLab (though I am not a Shandler addict, he is a reputable 3rd party). Guess what? I will Runs by 56, HR by 40, and RBI by 100. You win SB by 50, and BA is .277 to .280.,
Don't get me wrong, there are players I like in your line up, it just has allot more holes than you seen to want to admit when it comes to runs/hr/rbis
As for Russell single handledly outperforming my offense, LOL

Oh, and let's take a quick look at your Studly Bench:
Brian Giles B - 15 or less hr since 2005
Alex Gonzalez B - 16hr (5 in 2005, 9 in 2006 so atleast going the right way), but injured
Mike Lamb B - 11 HR, but since he only gets 300ab a year, not a terrible ab/hr ratio
Steve Pearce B 0 hr in 68 ABs...
So help me understand which of these offensive monsters you are going to use to save your power? Alex Gonzalez?

I think you should split any prize money with Shandler. I'm sure his head would spin when you saw your team. LMAO. Adam Dunn in the 4th? Are you kidding?
This has to be a bluff for your Main Event? I fell for it- A little mis-info? Dratf a bad team, publish it and then wamo- knockem' dead in the big show- Smart cookie!!

Dub's team came up as excellent when I ran it through Euclid, my system (I'm not Shandler but I have a better record in the main event than he does
), last week. Eyeing it, it looks like his team is better than this one but I actually like Spy's as well (and I'm picky). As I recall, Dub had very good speed and runs scored and lacked a bit of power with excellent pitching.
I'd run Spy's right now but, alas, I have to pack to leave for Vegas in the morning.
Good luck all.
BTW, I think the ho-hum 1st and 2nd round picks hurt Spy.

Please run through your system, I am pretty sure you will see me way ahead in 3 categories with 1 way behind (unless I play Theriot), and 1 a toss up. Personally I try and mix and match established players (hopefully low risk) with some upside guys.
Remember, the bet is on Offense only so his edge in pitching doesn't help him.
Have a safe trip and good luck this weekend

I'm off fellas. It'd only take a few minutes but I just don't have it. If I get a chance I'll do it from Vegas. Otherwise, pm me on Sunday for a reminder. Sorry.

dub- like your drafting- but sometimes i gotta wonder. does consistently hitting 40 homers and getting 100/100 bother you? dunn in the 4th a bad pick. geez. anyone that gets 40-100-100 every year can never be a bad pick in the 4th.

what's the score on the board. 7-3-1 in my favor? Meaningless.

I know we're comparing hitting but even if Spyhunter's offense outdoes Dub's, there's no way his pitching does.
More important is how the team finishes.
Spyhunter, you really should have asked Dub's permission to post his team. I don't think you did it to cause harm, just think that many people would have a problem with that.
On a side note: GLY and I have a bet on who has more pitching points in the February 19th WTA I satellite.
I'll post our pitchers in next topic and I'll let you guys compare ours (GLY has already posted his pitching so it's ok for me to post)

truth hurts eh buddy. i'm not sure, but i don't think greg or tom would appreciate insulting yer fellow members in such an immature manner. i merely pointed out the obvious w/ regard to yer whining about him posting yer team; you were more than happy to brag about how he (spy) was going to need a miracle to beat you, then all of a sudden 4 posts later yer cryin', you can't have it both ways. you do strike me as the type of guy who likes to hurl insults from behind the safety of his 'puter, i wonder if you'd be so bold face to face?! i think not, guys like you are comparable to the frat boy after too many beers, belligerent & stupid.

Dub,
If you were in the main event (or even any league after our little $250 league, I wouldn't have posted (or asked before I did). You were so cocksure on our league board that you had the top 3 team guaranteed, I couldn't have imagined that this would be an issue - I mean seriously, why in the world do you care????
Rockit, thanks, I agree with your analysis as well, the OF just kicks his team all over.

Okay fellas I ran your teams:
Spy: 1203 R, 280 HR, 1112 RBI, .276, 155 SB
Projects to finish 355 offensive points behind the NFBC main event overall leader.
Dub: 1155 R, 261 HR, 1062 RBI, .276, 214 SB
Projects to finish 450 offensive points behind the NFBC main event overall leader.
That said the teams are almost identical in terms of value, but Dub is passing the stolen base threshold at which they no longer bring back points. He needs to balance more, which I've already told him privately. I used Theriot instead of Peralta for Spy to balance his team better. Also if Dub replaces Davis with Pearce at some point, things look suddenly less gloomy (almost identical production as Spy's team if he were to get 500 AB's).
Also, Spy loses credit for publishing a team without permission and Dub clearly has the better staff.

if he has another draft than MAYBE he can be abit upset... i guess, but personally i don't see why it matters and since i feel this way i will (although i'm the slowest typer anywhere) post both of my sat league teams. i still have another on 3/26, and i might do the one on 3/25. so here's the team i drafted on 2/28...i had the 15th pk.
sp - santana, harang, francis, big unit, kuroda, e. santana, silva, carpenter, suppan.
rp - krod, gregg, sherrill, rauch.
c - ruiz/kendall
1b - gordon
2b - roberts
3b - zimmerman/reynolds
ss - j. wilson
mi - kaz
ci - fields/inge
u - hafner
of - sizemore, hamilton, bourn, bruce, jenkins.
here is team from 3/5, 4th pk:
sp - matsuzaka, sheets, cain, big unit, meche, jimenez, wolf, bannister, hampton, dempster.
rp - lyon, marmol, howry, zumaya.
c - martin/hernandez
1b - swisher
2b - kendrick
3b - longoria
ss - jroll
mi - escobar
ci - stairs/wood
u - thome
of - manny, c. young, mclouth, drew, rasmus, giles.
so there it is, hopefully 3rd time will be the charm! curious as to which team y'all feel is better...say whatever ya weant, i got thick skin!

sp - santana, harang, francis, big unit, kuroda, e. santana, silva, carpenter, suppan.

Rockit, I like Team #1 a bit more. The extra closer plus the upside of gordon, and hafner! The one thing I don't like is Francis as your 3rd pitcher, I just cant get used to Colorado starters

Baggler, I totally agree
Here is his quote from the league page:
quote: "Spyhunter/ Dub Comparisons Posted By: Club Dub
catching match up- not even close- Big Check Dub
1B- Helton on way down, Garko on way up- Edge even
Philips Vs Hill- Edge Spy (but not as much as you think)
Braun vs Jones (injury risk)- Braun will win all five categories
Perlta (proven) vs Tulo- Big edge Dub
Are we seeing a pattern yet?
Alex Gordon/FLopez vs Kelly Johnson (proven)/Daric Barton (Proven)- Again this is not even close
OF vs OF- Big edge Dub. (It would not surprise me if Victorino even matches the "proven" Carl Crawford, most overrated FBB.)
I actually feel bad taking your money. you gonna need a miracle. "
This part of the quote was left out for the record:
Now for the pitching
Verlander vs Haren- 4 category win for Verlander
Cain vs Young- Big edge Young
Martinez- Marcum. In which bizarro world could you even compare these two? Martinez is actual the best pitcher of ALL the pitchers on BOTH of our teams.
Blanton vs Zito- who would you rather have?
Papelbon/ Gregg and Wison vs Soria/ Ryan /Wood- big Edge Spy only in saves category?
Then a host of spec picks Miller/Ubaldo/james vs Scmidt/Patterson/ Pelfrey/Pinaro- You want that one- you can have that edge-LOL
I actually feel bad taking your money. you gonna need a miracle.
Dub, Sorry about that with Martinez, he may have the most talent, but man, he is just a crazy injury risk these days!!!
