The funny thing about Cueto is that everyone seems high on him; the only question was when to take him. One owner I spoke to today told me that they weren't going to take him when they did (17.13), but did so because they heard his name called in two other New York leagues. I was in the same league, and was thinking exactly the same thing.

It will be interesting to see the city-by-city results for Cueto. I have a feeling that the surrounding draft tables had an impact on where he was drafted -- I already have direct evidence that my league was affected.
You are absolutely right about this KoQ. At our break after 20 rounds, we saw the other three draft boards in Chicago and Johnny Cute-O had been drafted between rounds 17-19 in all 3. We said "Uh oh". We sweated out 6 more picks and took him at 21.7.

That ESPN story really fueled his quick ascent. People who knew nothing of him heard comparisons made to Pedro and saw themselves as having a mid-year Joba on their radar. Oh well. As soon as I heard one "so-and-so team picks Reds pitcher, "Cueto" before our 2nd break, I knew the floodgates were wide open.
Been way too long at sea....
