LV10 Pick 13

Post by Hard Heads » Mon Mar 17, 2008 6:01 am

I guess I will be another rookie to post my team to be shredded. We were in a very good league, LV 10 and held pick 13 and I think we did ok with some obviously risky players, but you take what you feel is the best with what you have to choose from. We made a few rookie mistakes, one being the whole computer fiasco and battery issues causing a panic move in round 16 as the CPU died right as pick 15 made his 1st pick on the turn causing chaos as my cheat sheets were set aside after round 5 or 6 cause the CPU was doing so well for us, oops! Anyway, please share your comments if you will.

Howard

Soriano

Abreu

Pence

Haren

Zambrano(not so sure I like this pick, partners choice)

Valverde

Posada

Renteria

Sheets

Polanco

Glaus

Ankiel

Borowski

K Matsui

Escobar(the cpu hiccup pick)

Pierzynski

Buerhle

Owens(reaching for speed due to a percieved lacking)

Betancourt(nice handcuff IMO)

Cust

Overbay(weak CI)

Capuano(very bad pick)

D Cabrera

S Hairston

Garciaparra

Uribe

Fuentes

Moylan

J Jones

Slightly weak in AVg and possibly speed. Staff could be huge or could be a bust, but I think if all goes well we will compete. I could just be ignorant though. Best of luck all!

Missed on a couple guys we really wanted by a few picks like Gordon, Billingsley, Joba, Kendrick, Broxton, but it was certainly fun and a learning experience.

Not bad, fellow rook :D Arguably the 2nd best team, after Team 15 of course.

I kinda hope Carlos doesn't work out for you. I took a gamble taking Felix over him.

Owens was a nice gamble. You should have enough pop to mask his lack of.

I almost took Moylan too. That was a solid pick. Especially with concerns with Soriano's elbow.

Anyhow, good luck(kinda) and it was nice to meet Team HardHeads.

HH, Like your starting offense a lot - good job there. Looks like you reached on pitching though, and I'll predict 8 of your last 10 picks will be in the waiver wire pool by early May if not April. Pitching and bench can be fixed if you're good with FAAB, so if you can hang around early and find some FA help this team should have a shot.

Funny you should say that about 8 of the 10 final picks could be gone because we are already discussing 3 of them going bye bye. LOL Matsui apparently will miss a few weeks with his butt issues so we will enjoy having Uribe for now, but only time will tell.

Funny my rankings didn't have you anywhere near us in the standings.

I am hoping my partners man love for Zambrano turns out as well as his "reach" for Romo in WCOFF panned out. He doesn't always study as much as I would like, but his reaches seem to pan out real well, so here's crossing our fingers.

[/QUOTE]Well of course not, I had my team out in front by about 25-30 points. But you're not too far down the list ;) I wouldn't worry so much about Zambrano. It's not like he has a lot of innings under his belt or now has enough cash to last 10 lifetimes(that's just me venting as I know I should have drafted him). You guys will be fine.
