You are assuming Pedro will only get 145 K's because of health, right? 2. Why the tremendous WHIP?

My only concern with him, and it is an enormous one, is his health.

I don't disagree on the merits of the 2 AZ pitchers, but with tiny samples that RP's get, Lyon could get lucky in his first 30 innings and Pena unlucky and then you have at least 2/3 of the year before the appropriate change happens. I just think it is really hard to plan on it happening in the first month.

And if you're saying fake Tony Pena, you gotta say Wood. I know in our league Wood went later and I would gather that was the case in most. And he HAS the job.

I do think fake Tony Pena ascends to the position, but that's a ways from happening.

I actually like Pedro to stay pretty healthy this year and just pitch a little differently and be a 6 inning guy. 145k's in 175 innings is not too bad. I get that if he strikes less guys out more balls get in play and it hurts his whip- his whip could go up a lot over past history and still be pretty darn good.

As far as Nor Cal- I would have taken Wood the next time he came to me. I do not own Pena in that league but wish I did.

Pedro's WHIP looks good every year except the short year last year, but I evaluate WHIP more based on the underlying stats anyway.

My pick is Mark Reynolds.

I picked him up in the 17th round in most of my drafts and his adp was right around that.

I think that with Chad Tracy still trying to come back and Tony Clark gone gives him a good chance to get 500+ at bats.

Last year he hit 17 dingers and was 60-60 with 366 at bats. He should hit 25+ and be 80-80 guy if he gets the opportunity.

Dustin McGowan- will outperform his draft position. The kid was lights out at the end of last year.

Adrian Gonzalez- Best swing in baseball, taken in the 6th round might produce 3 round numbers.

Any thoughts?

Adrian reminds me of Edgar Martinez of SEA...PRO hitter that hasn't reached his prime.

Any thoughts? I'm in the minority, but I don't see this bust out season in McGowan. I will grant that he should be a solid pitcher. But I would much rather take my chances on Hughes. I use Hughes because they're being drafted right around one another.

Any thoughts? I have both of them so I hope you're right. I'm not optimistic about the possibility of Scutaro playing defense behind McGowan for the first six weeks instead of Rolen. You go from possibly the best defensive third baseman in the league to the worst. Hopefully, the Jays get smart about it and play McDonald there. Other than that he's a power pitcher who gets ground balls--what's not to love.

Adrian should hit .270-.300 with 30-35 homers. Hard to complain, but I'm not convinced there weren't guys who can run a little who were worth more in the same spot. I needed the power, but I don't see him going crazy and hitting 40-45 unless he gets traded--which won't happen.

Joe Crede 29th Rd Main Event.

Obviously he will be going higher in the later satellites, but for the earlier events he could be had at amazing value.

Any thoughts? Dustin was pretty respected in many drafts. He needs win 15 plus games this year to get to the next level.

Other than Kouzmanoff, there isn't anything exciting about San Diego's line-up. He won't score a 100 runs and could struggle for 100 RBI if no one hits in front of him.

Rich Harden maybe the best pitcher in the American League, when healthy. Thats my vote for best value. Also like Kershaw's value.

Im thinking that it would be a 1B: Laroche or MJacobs. Both of those guys were going mid-draft or later and could have very solid years. Of course, I don't have either one of them...

SP- E Santana- bias pick since I got him in the 22nd and 20th rd of 2 drafts. Rotation spot much more secure with Escobar out. Solid Ks source, worth taking at this point to see if he can improve on his road ERA and WHIP

2B- A Ramirez- Baseball tonight crew liked him as a roy candidate. Regular playing time still a question mark, and while too much stock cannot be placed on spring stats, they cannot be ignored especially when you can have him in the 25th rd.
