Nice opening day...MLB extra innings...the nag is working

Now if I could just get Jose Guillen to stop throwing people out at home, Verlander should bring in my first superdraft win.

East Coast Bias THIS!

Can't wait for a dome game or some western games to start...this single game crap is anti-climactic!

HD rules...I get to trip on each players heck-ware. Chipper looked like he had a bike lock on last night (cable style), and Verlander looks to have some sort of good-luck necklace...some have nice thick golden suckers, and a few are bare or tucked underneath their jersey.

King, can I ask your opinion on the Superdraft league. I think in a league only format (no overall, like main) if I loaded up on more pitching early and picked a good hitting foundation, I'd have a better shot at winning.

I know pitchers are less reliable and I picked a couple of real risky guys, but with 9 pitchers, each one theoretically counts for 11% of pitching staff, while each hitter accounts for roughly 7% of hitting. Meaning, to me, a pitcher could have more impact than a hitter, so I tried to lock in on 60-65 pitching points and hope for 50 points from hitting.

There are some holes, like every team and I see DeJesus left early already today, but overall I am happy with my team. I wish I hadn't picked Dmitri Young, but overall, barring injuries, I think this is one of my better teams, which isn't saying much.

I know saves will be a problem (sh$@, Gordon just hit a 2 run shot off Verlander!) and SBs will be low, where else do I have major concerns?

Some of us have the luxury of being home for the 1st pitch....most days.

The rain delays do put a damper on the day so far.

Mike, I was rooting for that throw...Mags is to slow, although my cousin says he is quite the nice guy and a very good tipper. My cuz has worked all over Orlando and has told me some interesting stories regarding some pro athletes and their tipping habits.

It always interest me, considering I was a server for a few years.

Michael Jordan...10% on many occasions

Shaq.....$100, regardless.

Go Shields and go Rays....time to head down that road towards a wild card. GLY, used to bag groceries for tips in high school, so I also find that interesting. Nice of Shaq, unless he's paying for a party of 20 rowdy drunks!!!

Sorry I haven't called yet. Was busy this week, getting all other stuff ready.

I did come across a free agent I liked for a low bid - Cody Ross. Seems like he should play regular for a little while at least...has decent power. Picked him up in a couple league...

There goes my Verlander win!

When I use Euraclod's projections, you seem to do fine in Runs (1100), RBI (1100), HR (280) and Average (.283). However, you have a TON of guys who I worry about completing the season -- I'd say at least 80% chance that you don't get full seasons out of Chipper, Wells, Greene, Hudson, Sanchez, Hernandez, Huff and Crede. You also have virtually no bench to support that kind of uncertainty.

Your starting staff is awesome, as no one can even touch your Top 5. You'll obviously need to dominate in 4 pitching categories (and do decent in the 5th) to compensate for your hitting.

Now with all that said, if everything breaks right for your offense -- primarily in the health department -- you're going to do very well with this team.

I do look forward to this season more than those in the past though!

Nice HR by Guillen (Carlos).

In what could be chalked up as opening day jitters/lack of focus...Guillen could have been lost for the season by a well placed Grudzielanek collision to his fairly straightened knee, when he took the throw to first base in his "pre pitch pick-off/block the plate/block the 1B line" stance.
