Manager Mike Scioscia said Sunday that Mike Napoli (shoulder) may not be ready to catch by Opening Day.

So much for everyone's favorite sleeper. I saw him getting drafted in the 10th round in some drafts, and i was puzzled. the guy can never stay healthy and is one week long slump from losing major PT.

I just moved up Jeff Mathis on my rankings. Thanks for the alert.

i wouldn't move mathis up too much. but, napoli does take a huge hit IMO. he's certainly no 9th/10th round BS. those folks might as well trade their 9th/10th round pick for a 20th round pick.

perhaps this could INCREASE his value....since their is talk of Napoli being the DH. He certainly has the power AND good speed for a catcher.

perhaps Mr. Gekko II is hoping to plant the seeds of doubt so that he might steal the Napster!

perhaps Mr. Gekko II is hoping to plant the seeds of doubt so that he might steal the Napster! his chances of getting significant time at DH were dashed away once Abreu was signed. sorry

I was looking at the latest projections in Rotolab (great sw btw), and was very surprised to see Napoli rated at the #1 catcher with $15 value. The biggest projection I was shocked on (beside ~.269 ba) was the 409 ab. his line of 76-29-76-10 .268 with 409 abs.
