Abreu or McLouth?

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Wed Mar 04, 2009 12:56 pm

Who would you feel more comfortable with?

Are the projections equal?

The first adp report had McLouth's adp as 42, Abreu, 70, is that fair or will Abreu's adp lower now that he has signed with the Angels?

Veteran or youngster?

McLouth has 1 good yr under his belt...Abreu has 11. McLouth plays for the Pirates :( Abreu plays for the Angels

You can have McLouth at pk 42...I'd be ecstatic to get Bobby at 70!

You can have McLouth at pk 42...I'd be ecstatic to get Bobby at 70! Couldn't have said it better myself. And a man wiser than me reminded me the other day that McLouth was "fighting" against several others including future HOFer Chris Duffy for a job last year.

Early on, give me the proven track record especially at a two round discount. Were you really relying on Abreu for HR anyway?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Abreu will take a hit from last year switching lineups but for where Mclouth is being drafted, abreu is the better value
