Probably because they've been doing shows for a while now. I would imagine Cory is one of the most knowledgeable players playing in the NFBC. You can speak with him about any player and he can rattle off info WITHOUT having to look it up.....and not just basic stats, but the type of player they are because he actually watches the games, unlike many who claim expert status. He really does know his "stuff".

Although, I do wonder, when are the suit rentals due back? :D

[/QUOTE]Hey, that really is my suit! I have one suit and it's good for all occasions: weddings, funerals, bar mitzvahs, TV shows, you name it. :)

Anyway, thanks for everyone's feedback on the show. Hopefully it will have reached enough of an audience that it turns into something regular, and allows us to dig deeper into more advanced strategy and player analysis.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, positive and not-so-positive, I appreciate it. It is a challenge to do a show like this and make it informative for advanced players such as in NFBC, without coming off as too sophisticated for the more casual players and mainstream baseball fans. Ultimately we tried to strike a balance; yes we talked a lot about top-tier players but we also spent a fair amount of time on guys who went much deeper in drafts: Mike Fontenot, Khalil Greene, Ryan Spilborghs, etc.

Gekko, I don't really feel the need to defend my resume, but if it helps give you any confidence, I've been playing in money leagues for 20 years, and have won enough to keep my wife happy. In my first three years in NFBC I've finished 1-3-4 in my league (6th overall in 2006), and I've finished as high as 3rd in Tout Wars. In my day job I have full-time exposure to team and league executives so I have access to plenty of good information and intelligence. I'm not sure what your standard is for expertise but I don't feel I have a credibility gap when I offer my thoughts on something.

Plus, if you watch more of the show you'll note that every observation I offered was supported by facts. Whether or not things play out as I expect is unknown, but I wasn't just offering unsupported opinions.

Whether or not you agree with anything I said is up to you, but I did want to let you know a little bit more about me since you are using my qualifications as one of your criteria for evaluating the show.

Thanks,

Cory Great post...I enjoyed the show very much. I actually enjoyed some of Harold's feedback as well...maybe that makes me a novice. Thanks again for the knowledge shared.

Some you guys are missing the point here....

Cory and Mike have their hands tied behind their backs... Dont think for a minute these guys wouldn't want to put out a hardcore fantasy show that us fantasy sharks could truly enjoy... BLAME WHOEVER IS RUNNING THE MLB NETWORK and .COM..

AS for Cory and Mike i give them nothing but props because they have been successful and they are experts.. They've just been handed the keys to a Ferrari with no tires....

The bottom line is when Schwartz and Siano are on the MLBNetwork there is no other show on TV that Im watching...

I love watching you guys though I don't know why Mike shaved and got all dolled up? I don't agree with your strategies much, but your info on players and situations are always enlightening.

Personally, those guys at MLB Network are idiots if they don't give you an hour a week. To cancel your show on mlb.com is moronic as well. If they can take Leykus off the air, I guess you are expendable. There is a need for these shows on and I'm hopeful you guys can sell it to them! keep up the great work.

The bottom line is when Schwartz and Siano are on the MLBNetwork there is no other show on TV that Im watching... We're not missing the point. We know that Cory and Mike have their hands tied and do a great job considering H.R. is in the room, and the show is mostly for the beginner fantasy fan.

The good thing is that it is a foot in the door. Any fantasy show that can make its way to a national broadcast is good for us and the industry. By the same token, watching the finished project provides no information for the NFBC player.

Hopefully MLB can build on this. Best case scenario for us would be for the show to gradually lose the talking head and Harold and let Cory and Mike do what they do best.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Cory are you doing the 411 fantasy show on XM?

Is it a one show thing or all season?
