Draft Spot Preference Is Now Available
Okay, owners who already have signed up for the 2006 NFBC event and have access to their teams will find the Draft Spot Preferences feature is now live and available to you. Here's where you can find it when you go to My Teams:
Click on your 2006 Team.
Click on My Settings way to the right among the top links.
Then pull down to the third setting that says Draft Preferences.
When you get in there you'll see 1 through 15 as your choices and they will be listed 1 through 15 initially. If you don't want to do a thing, just leave that alone and your preferences will be set at 1 to 15. If you want to make changes, just change the settings for the particular preferences you want. You can change those preferences as often as you want before the deadline, which will likely be in early March. I'll set that deadline later.
This feature is available once you've signed up for 2006. If you haven't done that yet and want to easily, again just click on My Teams under the Home link and you'll see a link that is highlighterd in Red that says Sign Up For 2006. Once you do that, you'll automatically receive your username and password from STATS as we've now automated that process. Then you'll have access to the Draft Preferences link and stats and standings from 2005.
The Satellite league Registration page will also show up soon under the main REGISTER link. Once that happens (hopefully later today), you'll have a chance to sign up for the Satellite Leagues we've planned for late February and early March. Sign up for as many as you'd like.
I can feel the momentum shifting to baseball right now as we've had a solid week of signups. Let's start talking about baseball and get it on. Are you ready?
By the way, which is the preferred spot on Draft Day? Any thoughts on that??? Let's hear some thoughts.

I prefer right in the middle (7, 8). Someone has already done an analysis of who placed from what spot, I believe, but the middle keeps you from losing out on any position runs. I have been on the end both years in NFBC, (11 and 14), and seeing 20 to 26 players jump off the board before I can pick again just kills me...
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

If you were an early signup and don't have your 2006 team hooked up yet, don't fret. STATS thought they'd have all of the early signups linked by last night, but they didn't get everyone done. Some guys can click on their new teams, rename them and do what they want in the Draft Preferences, but not everyone is linked yet. But Monday we should have everyone taken care of.
Anyone who signs up now online, will automatically get their username, password and access to their teams. Good luck everyone.

OK I've jumped into this great new format. My draft picks are 1-15. No change.

Greg - are we just listing preferences or are we bidding on them.
What happened to the idea of KD method of selection? I prefer the live situation because I might change my preference based on who the competitors are and where they are seated.

You're listing preferencs. That is KD. And I think you have a Catch 22 there. How can you know where your competitors are going to sit until you pick your preferences and the draft spots are chosen?

No live situation as many folks want plenty of time before the draft to know where they're drafting from. You will have no idea who your competitors are in the KDS format, so just list 1 through 15 in order your spots you'd like to draft from.
It would be fun to do this live, but I would say the vast majority of owners would like to know well in advance of Draft Day where they're drafting from.

Nothing wrong with that at all!! I'd probably do the same thing.
