18-13 Jose Lopez, 2B, SEA

While I and most of the planet have lost faith in Wood and Prior. It is the end of the 18th round and some chances can be taken without risking too much. Wood could be next. Who knows? I did think about it even before Wayne brought it up. I just don't think you could do it on a for real team. Too many uncertain pitchers and roster spots filled with potential non performers. I also took Harden earlier. That would prevent any real chance of taking Wood after already having those 2.

i know you guys all did this already- but i looked at the top 4-6 teams from 06. from their original drafts- i would never have thought they would win. i bet if they had thrown those teams up for "the board" to review- they would have been criticized. they all had some great free agent pickups. their breakout guys were a mix of old guys, about 30 years old guys and young guys. who knows. 18th round- prior- why not. i took prior in 9th and gagne in 6th. finished last in saves- but the rest of my pitching was real good. i even was dumb enough to just leave prior in. i do think prior is a bit of a wuss though.

Kerry Wood and Eric Gagne. GULP!

Really, if one of them closes and stays healthy it'll be worthwhile. No, I wouldn't probably do this in the real thing.

Since i've really screwed up this draft and will be left with cow dung at ss, mi, and c, I'll just wait on those seeing as what I get 2 rounds from now will be just as good/bad as what I would take now, so I'll fill my ut spot with Kouzmanoff dh is all he qualifies for to start with.

Vander, have you learned what you wanted from this draft? We know the 2 hole would not be your preference. Also,in what city do you intend to draft? I'd like to avoid as many with similar philosophies as possible!! That question could also be asked of DAK especially on the pitching side.

19-4 Was carefully looking at Gagne here - thanks for deciding for me Doughboys. Instead I'll balance out with some sbs, some runs, and some flex - Chris Burke, DH slot.

Taking my 21st Round MI on Round 19 especially in the DH slot!! I'd feel even better about C. Burke if Biggio would get to 3000 before August!!

I like Burke a lot, but where's he gonna play? The outfield is now crowded and as you say Biggio is a hometown hero going for 3000. I've heard his name mentioned in trade rumors. I think that would really help him.

Thanks for the updates, KJ. It should be Wood at the end of the 18th.
