Perusing the Satelite league Managers, I noticed the Brian vs Kent matchup on Feb 21 in the $100 league. All the makings of an instant classic.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

I would think that league will fill quickly sign up now. Especially those of you who never played the game before... great way to get your feet wet.

Cherokee, I have to say I'm puzzled by your comment since I'm in the dark about what it is you're speaking about. I try to answer all of the questions I see; if I miss one it's certainly not because of anything personal. My apologies if I missed one from you.

With regard to the Feb. 28 $250 league we have 10 people signed up for that draft so we still have openings available.

And a complete and up-to-date listing of all our sign-ups for the Satellite Leagues is on the first page of this thread in the first post from Greg.

Thank you for answering my question.

Go back a few posts and you'll see that I asked a basic, simple question, that you ignored.

Do the people that blather on and on pay more to play in these leagues. I believe I'm paying the same as them, so I would like my questions to be answered as well. Basic fairness, nothing more, nothing less.

Thank you

Lance Wow Cherokee, lay off the steriods man. A response to a casual msg bd post the next day doesn't seem unreasonable. If you need an answer faster than that you may want to give the guy a call.

Lance Come to Tampa to draft and talk to Tom like that- he may have a few homies who take you out behind a liquor store on Dale Mabry Blvd. No one talks to Tom like that. Not even Greg in his annual review.

By the way does Tom's annual review go something like you got Omar Vizquel's age wrong in the magazine last year I need you to work on that?

Lance, I don't ignore questions. If I missed one from you I apologize. I try to read the boards as often as possible during the week but there can be times when I'm busy and miss something. It's not a snub and it's not something that should be taken personally. If you have a question that goes unanswered feel free to e-mail me ([email protected]) or call me (715 445-4612 ext. 653) and I'll be happy to help you out as best I can.

Thank you Lance, only I get to talk to Tom this way. Ease up, man. It's almost embarrassing that you ridicule Tom for this question when every single signup for every single satellite league is on the first post of this thread. Just click 1 and you'll see that we have 11 for that Feb. 28, $250 league. We need four more signups and we'll close that out. We're close and you'll have your draft spots in another week or so.

Tom and I live on these Message Boards, but sometimes we miss posts as the current threads go on top of each other. I didn't see your question either. We answer every question we see as fast as we can and we don't care who asks them. Playing favorites on who asks the questions? How goofy.

Lazy we're not. Now move on and watch the first post for updates everytime we get a new signup.

Signup List For 2006 NFBC Satellite Leagues

Post by viper » Fri Feb 10, 2006 3:01 pm

For those still interested in satellite leagues, it might be a good idea to start two new threads.

Let the first be a list of filled leagues. You may even consider ordering them in draft order sequence after the KDS is completed. It could be interesting to place in parenthesies after the team where they were drawn. Since I have the 8th slot in my #1 position, assuming mine was the first team drawn out of the hat, I would be in the 8 slot and it would look like:

8: Mike Ladd (1)

The second thread would be just those leagues needing teams. Having them separated and consolidated may help.

Hope this makes sense.

But it does not account for nearly 400 points considering we went pitching 5 of the first 12 picks and several early.

Also how many A's are you going to own this year, I know they are your hometown team but for goodness sakes research another team for a change.

I know you are scared it will be alright. I think I may name my team after you so you know what it feels like to see your name high in the standings.

Be honest right now you are racking your brain for excuses in 06. I got one for you it was an early draft I had not had time to prep.

I told you all along no excuses from me, if you beat me fine.

We both know though that if I finish 14th you will get 15th.

Snickers, some great Smak...

I think the NFBC not only has some of the best competitors around, but it also has some of the best "Smak Talkers" too... :D
It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

[/QUOTE]I had enough time to prep or I wouldn't be joining. That was my reason for *not* playing when I didn't know if I would. Actually, I think more value might fall in an early draft, if that makes sense.

I don't have any excuses for last year. As far as I'm concerned if I finished second overall, I did something wrong because it wasn't first. No one is harder on me than I am. At the same time I had a respectable finish and that wasn't bad for a team that was in 298th place at the end of April. I'm going to take my comfort where I can get it, too.

If you're referring to the pm I sent you about what went wrong, I was giving you an analysis, rather than excuses, because you asked for it, seriously, I might add.

Of course I did an analysis of what went wrong, how else am I going to learn and improve? That's not making excuses.

That A's comment seemed random. I drafted 3 A's last year, none in the first five rounds, and I acually picked Byrnes thinking and hoping they would trade him so he'd steal more bases somewhere else. I thought I hit the lotto when he went to Colorado. But, yes, it was one of the things I was wrong about.

I do (and I know I'm being too analytical here and not smack talking like I'm meant to) have biases for and against offenses or pitching staffs of certain teams. I rarely draft Yankees because they are often overvalued, for example. In the case of the A's, I did think some of their hitters were undervalued last year (note that I didn't have any of their pitchers). This year, that's certainly not the case. Look at Kotsay who had great value last year and has a lot more question marks this year, yet he's going earlier in drafts. I don't read the local papers.

Feel free to name your team after me. I think "One of 299 guys..." is too long to fit, and I don't have a mustache. For my part, I am not that fixated on you.

Greg, Rockwell's post got me thinking. Is there any way that you can hide what draft pick we get in the satellite leagues? Send them to us on e-mail, say. I'm concerned that anyone who is in both the satellite and my nfbc league will get to see my picks.
