1.7 Matt Holliday

On a side note- to get the draft moving quickly, maybe at the turn we post an hourly schedule for the next 14 picks (one per hour). If someone does not show by the time the next pick is due (1 hr later), the person waiting can make both picks. For example-

2.2 10 AM EST

2.3 11 AM

2.4 Noon

2.5 1 PM

2.6 2 PM

2.7 3 PM

2.8 4 PM

2.9 5 PM

2.10 6 PM

2.11 7 PM

2.12 8 PM

2.13 9 PM

2.14 10 PM

2.15 and 3.1 11 PM

Then repeat the next day. We then know what time we need to check-in. Just a rookie thought.

A round per day and we are done by Christmas!

I understand the desire to do this quick, but I work 10 hours a day and if this 1 hour rule is implemented then find me a sub.

A round per day and we are done by Christmas! Nice idea but I don't think it will work, too many people cant check that often.

Just a thought. I was thinking a fixed time for everyone might reduce the need to keep checking. But I definetely do not want to force someone out due to timing.

Don- I was thinking Braun at #7, so I like seeing that he was taken at #8. Maybe I am not too far off.

I can't do it two drafts in a row, so I am going to pass on whom I think the obvious pick is and go with Carl Crawford, OF, TB.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
