NFBC II Magazine League Draft on Thursday, Jan. 26th

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jan 17, 2006 10:45 am

Okay, our second issue of Fantasy Sports Magazine will hit newsstands on March 7th and once again we'd like to publish the results of a 15-team draft using NFBC guidelines and rules. I'm looking for 15 SERIOUS players who can meet online on Thursday, Jan. 26th at 7 p.m. EST and stay for 30 rounds. We'll play out the league and give the winner a $500 credit for the NFBC in 2007. Anyone interested in participating can post here or shoot me an e-mail at [email protected].

I'll post the list of participants here as I've already heard from some owners who wanted in:

1. George Kleemann

2. Stanley Kaye

3. Gordon Gekko

4. John Zaleski

5. Jim Ferrari

6. Eddie Gillis

7. Dan Kenyon

8. Todd Zola

9. Mike Konemann

10. Terry Passalacqua

11. Kent Stermon

12. Rob Dykhoff

13. Elliott Haworth

14. Perry Van Hook

15. Mike Ladd
He'll be there. He's become a real estate mogul and he has to make sure he's not closing on the Pacific Ocean or something on March 18th. But good point, he's kicked out if he doesn't commit soon! :D

Gordon, how do I define more serious than you. Well, after some of your draft picks the owners in the league will be saying, you can't be serious.

Maybe there is still a spot. At least right now there is. I see GG is looking at finishes. I did get a 53 last year and have a 23 lifetime. I definitely would like in.

I finished 298th last year- Beltre did not come through for me, 2nd round pick Oliver Perez struggled, and I had a plan to help my batting avg with drafting JD Closser at catcher and that failed. It does not make me a bad player, I will enjoy doing my best against you all on the 26th though.

I am all for BBDS for this thing-

I also had JD Closser at catcher.24 overall last year.Sorry,Just had to do it.I also had Halladay,Carpenter,Burnett,Bonderman, and the rest of my pitching staff do a meltdown at the end.If you did not win you at least get a good story to tell.
Pacific Ocean or somewhere in the middle of Oklahoma. Still have 34 days left to decide.

Annual Angel Spring Training week long trip is that weekend.

Working on getting another NFBC owner for Saturday appearance only. Odds are, I'll be there.

Sorry, I had to run home for a bit to reintroduce myself to the kids. After checking the timing of my e-mails and Private Messages, Mike Ladd slipped in for the 15th spot. I'll keep a waiting list on hand in case some of the first 15 guys can't make it or if I picked someone who isn't competing in the 2006 NFBC.

More updates to come soon. I see BBDS has started already. I'll address all of this soon. Right now I think it's cocktail hour....at least somewhere in the world it is.
