The better nickname after recent performance is mediocre Mark.

More updates to come soon. I see BBDS has started already. I'll address all of this soon. Right now I think it's cocktail hour....at least somewhere in the world it is. Let's do the BBDS with real money and see whose mouth is where!

Fair enough- one year could be luck- we shall see. I can accept someone skeptical that I was lucky.
Can you accept a mediocre tag in the baseball event until you prove otherwise?

Mediocre - Moderate to inferior in quality; ordinary.
I’m not sure coming in better than 75% of all the other blokes is mediocre, but if it is, that’s fine. You can refer to me however you want…mediocre, bad, terrible…or even…Your Greatness, Most Powerful One, guy who won more money in fantasy baseball AND fantasy football than you last year
Your choice! Enjoy!

I've thought this through and it makes sense to use the Kentucky Derby System for this draft. It will be interesting to see what preferences the 15 owners choose and it will be good text for the magazine article. I will need to create new team links for the 15 owners in this draft and we'll set the deadline for Draft Preferences for 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday. Tom and I will figure out the draft order first thing Tuesday morning and announce the draft order later that morning. We can evaluate the draft preferences for all to see and have some fun with that.
Give me a day or two to set up the team links on your home pages and we'll get this rolling.

People keep pointing out to you that fantasy football and your win from last year is irrelevant to baseball- especially in this case b/c I do not play in the nffc. I think you already get that- but we all need something or someone to lean on in tough times. You get your chance at me one week from tomorrow head to head. It may only be for 500 imaginary dollars but I commit to playing it out and giving it my best. Therefore if I lose no excuses. Will you do the same? Also did you clear that we can both be in this league with Captain Hook?

I too struggle with showing my deep sleepers, but I may do it because one adjustment I am making this year is taking guys I like a lot as sleepers a little earlier than last- so I should be able to get them anyway.
I need clearance for the league in writing from Captain Hook though.
I wish this league were for more money- and did not have a couple of its drawbacks- because it is certainly if nothing else a cast of characters.
I am not one to talk trash... but I want to see why these masterball writers spend so much time on this but do so poorly first hand... Oops I just talked a little trash didn't I.
I have drafted with that Dan Kenyon guy once- combining that with what I saw from him last year. He is damn good. I also know from the 37 posts where Eddie Gillis mentions his successes that he must be pretty good too. It should be interesting maybe I will just play for 4th.

Rockwell you have my permission to draft against me anytime - if you want to put some real money on it I think we can arrange it.
I don't know why you are so antagonistic or why you think I haven't done well in NFBC - well I guess if you are one of the big winners you wouldn't consider four second place finishes in my leagues worthwhile, so I will just have to be awed by your drafting prowess.

Oh lighten up young fella, just trying to draw a rise out of you. I am sure you are a nice guy- but I think most would agree it was not your place to say delete a thread, skip someone because they have not picked, don't post on this thread etc. That is where I antagonized you right?
How many total nfbc events have you done and what are your finishes? I was probably wrong and should and will apologize for calling you out if the facts support it. More than anything I am just trying to get a little chatter going for Thursday.
All in all lighten up Perry if you take me too seriously on here- that is your loss. You obviously take young Mark Srebro a little too seriously too.
I look forward to competing against you next week and may the best man win. I have said it 1000 times at this level of competition you should always be a little in awe of your opponents. I will finish bottom of the pack in a league sooner rather than later. There will be no excuses- if you beat me I will tip my cap to you and offer to buy you a hotdog at a Royals/Rangers split squad game.

I seem to be at a disadvantage Rockwell since you know who I am, but I don't know the person behind your mb moniker.
Check out the "Heroes & Zeroes" entry from last season's NL auction league - the reason we now have the 400 IP requirement.

So I did a little research 3 2nd's, a 5th, and an 11th place finish. Sorry it took so long my page down button is broke on my keyboard so I had a hard time finding your main event team from 05.
It is better than Zola- but still a bridesmaid a lot.

HEY GUY'S , i finished 77 last year, but 25 on the lifetime standings.I did much better in my first nfbc season.A couple players hurt me last year, guys that i was to high on. [brett boone]
IF we all agree maybe we can put some money on this event, say 200.00. That way you will get everybody's true picks , if money is on the line.
What do you guy's think.

I am out for money on this- already have 4 nfbc money leagues, plus like GG said not exactly trying to show sleepers in this and I would not have liked my draft last year nearly as much w/o Sizemore and Cantu who were my sleepers. Did I mention I dropped Sizemore- I mention it to myself a lot.
Look forward to competing against you Eddie.

Check out the "Heroes & Zeroes" entry from last season's NL auction league - the reason we now have the 400 IP requirement. Rockwell is Kent Stermon, an 34 year old accountant in Florida (not a porn star [not that he ever acted the part]). His team, Ambrosius' Mustache finished in first place in his league, though he co-owns with a friend and then likes to take all the credit for himself. He is not fond of drafting Sheets too early.

I played against some great guys with some great teams- things broke our way at the end.
I also do not like to talk about last year's success- We are doing our first auction ever- big learning curve- and not many people defended titles last year. We are going to give our best effort to do so.

No problem. Just having fun. However, your pronouns with regards to your team have tended to go in the direction of "I" rather than "we."

I would definitely agree with that- but they also say I when it is negative- more just how I write. I have a great partner not real active on here.

I see that STATS is setting up this league now, so each owner should have access to their teams for this draft soon. Remember to set your draft preferences by Monday night and we'll announce the draft order on Tuesday morning.
MockDraftCentral.com will get each owner the URL in the next day or two, so look for that. Don't panic if you don't get it before Monday as Jason Pliml is working on that now. Check out the site well before Thursday's draft and make sure you install everything you need for that draft. If we have 15 knowledgeable owners who don't have computer problems, we can cruise through this draft and have fun at the same time.
As always, I'll be monitoring this draft along with Jason and will be on the Chat boards for comic relief. If you can type as fast as I can, you're welcome to smack talk with me!
