Dave is one of the most underrated players here. He builds the exact same type team every year and executes his strategy even though you know what he is going to do. I always have a list of about 5-6 guys I really want after round 15 and he always snakes 2-3 of them from me.

Funny thing about my friend Dave is three years ago when we were all in Florida, his lament was "I always have batting...if I could just figure out pitching" or words to that effect.
So he just goes out in 2008 and has like a top 20 pitching staff and in 2009 he has the best pitching staff of all. The guy is amazing. Snappy dresser too!

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Hard Heads wants Jose Lopez.
I'll take Jason Kubel

My team so far:
Wright
Reyes
Hamilton
Hill
Butler
Peavy
Sounds a bit risky, but oh the possible reward; sitting at a draft table in Vegas in March 2010, I would be very happy at this time

every year we have one of these injury studs. in 2010 it is reyes. the difference will be no one in their right mind will care about what the mets say. someone will get him in round 2 and if he is healthy- the steal of the draft. a gut call- period. no way you know if he is healthy because i don't think they let him go full out in spring training.

You might want to do some series research on him before promating him as a 2nd round pick. I owned him in 4 league's this year. He should not be a second round pick based upon all the reports that I followed all year.

i am not promoting him- hence the "if he is healthy" and the "lying mets" comments. trust me- all kinds of things were said about alberts elbow. my gut tells me he won't be healthy and we will know it because he won't be playing in spring training. but if he plays- it will be a crapshhot because if he does not steal he is yunel escobar.

Yes, some serious research...how about this, he will be 27 next year and is entering his prime; he is not an injury prone player as exhibited by his previous 4 years except for 2006 when he played in ONLY 153 games; He was a top 5 pick in 2009; your reasoning for him not even being a 2nd round pick is that you had him in 4 leagues? Sounds like sour grapes. I'll make a little side bet he will be a 2nd rounder unless he had his leg amputated...

BTW, Long Gone, what reports have you followed all year? Yes, he tore his hamstring (recently); he has 5-6 months to try and get healthy; granted, if he is not ready by ST he drops; again, he is 26 and hopefully with the right medical treatment he will be ready. This is a MOCK draft being held in early October...

Greg, you're up. Sorry, someone jump in for me. I'm buried in P&L spreadsheets and NFBC W-9s and NFFC rules discussion, etc. I'll keep watching but someone grab hold of this sorry-ass team of mine!!!
Thanks all.
