Having two columns of numbers can be confusing, for me and the participants!!! This was a good test run as I screwed up during the first testing.

fyi, my KDS preferences were:
8, 7, 9, 2, 1, 6, 10, 5, 11, 4, 3, 12, 13, 14, 15
I prefer drafting from the middle but it's hard not to want one of the top two guy. I will be interested how those two teams view things after the draft is completed. Drafting on the ends have disadvantages but can they be offset by getting Pujols or Arod?

Draft Order For NFBC II Magazine League
As you can see, things changed quickly as George Kleemann chose No. 15 as his second preference. He said he wanted to see what life was like at that end of the draft! That allowed the next three owners to move up one spot. The biggest jump was made by Elliott Haworth, who was randomly picked for the 12th spot, but moved up to the 5th spot as nobody ahead of him selected that. Kent Stermon also moved from 9th to 4th.
It's interesting to note that the person randomly picked 15th moved up to 12th, his sixth preference, and the owner picked 14th moved up to 11th, his third preference. Five owners chose to move down in the draft, including those randomly selected at 5, 6 and 7.
Eleven owners picked No. 1 as their first Draft Preference, while three owners took No. 2 and one owner took No. 8. Five owners left their Draft Preferences as 1 through 15.
Feel free to ask questions here so that we all are clear on the Draft Preferences feature. If you haven't checked it out for your main event team or your satellite teams, go to your My Teams area, click on My Settings (way to the right), pull down to the Draft Preferences link (third one down) and you'll see them listed 1 through 15. Good luck everyone.

What an unexpected turn of events. I went to lunch fretting over who I was going to be left with at 12th pick. Now I'm 5th. You can't help but be a fan of KDS after that.

my third preference wasn't the 11 hole. I assume you meant another. That or there was a computer glitch.

If so why would you have put up 7 first? There is no method to this list. As you cannot predict future rounds, you must have players in mind when making a draft order.
8-Manny Rameriz
7-Derrick Lee
9-Miguel Cabrara
2-Albert Pujols
1-Alex Rodriguez
6-Carl Crawford
10-Miguel Tejada
5-Johan Santana
11-Bobby Abreu
4-Mark Texeira
3-Vlad Guerrero
12-David Ortiz
13-David Wright
14-Jimmy Rollins
15-Alfonso Soriano
This is Greg's magazine list.
As you might not have the players slotted in these spots, it is a pretty safe bet in the first round you will be presented with similar decisions.
At 8, Santana and Lee might slide, but I bet no one else does. Are you telling me you have a player in mind or just letting the draft come to you?

With the 8 pick, I do not have specific selection earmarked for round 1 in mind. It is my thought that as a draft progresses, picking in the middle has advantages that even outweigh having one of the first 2-3 picks. Runs are not a concern. You typiclally have players you feel have slipped for every pick. I have drafted on the edges twice and here are problems there.

He wanted a certain player, while trying to attain as enviable a second round choice as possible. By your logic, perhaps the guy was M. Cabrera whom he could have had 8th while having a better slot in the second round than taking him 7th and still a better chance to get him than picking 9th. But, he views Cabrera as not much better than a 7th round pick at best and doesn't want to take him any earlier.
In which case he'll go to 2 and 1 where his preferred player is probably Pujols.
Failing that, he will go to 6 and 10 to again take a shot at Cabrera, though he risks taking him too early or not getting him all (which is why he'd prefer Pujols 2nd).
Similar, though to an even higher extreme, are 5 and 11, where in our hypothetical example, he will still hope for Cabrera.
If he can't get any of those he will go to 4 and 3 where he maybe wants Texeira.
Failing everything else he'll settle on the last spots in order, hoping to get as good a draft slot as possible.

It is my thought that as a draft progresses, picking in the middle has advantages that even outweigh having one of the first 2-3 picks. Runs are not a concern. You typiclally have players you feel have slipped for every pick. I have drafted on the edges twice and here are problems there. Or, he just wanted to pick as close to the middle as possible, assuming he can't get Pujols. My exercise is still fruitful as you can probably apply logic to almost any order.
Chance favors the prepared mind.
