About an hour ago, I finished my Lean Cuisine lunch (trying to lose about 20 pounds and go from a triple to a double chin). Today, I selected a less-than-satisfying meatloaf and potatoes.

A few minutes later, I get Greg's email, look up my league, and I'm competing against the Meatloaf man himself.

Not sure what the gods of fantasy baseball are trying to say... any ideas?

Good luck and we'll see you all Friday night. JT

The only disappointment with this league is we don't get to battle that annoying Lizard creature...where is he anyway?

This is going to be fun guys. I'm not real happy with the 10th pick, but what do you do? I wonder if Meat Loaf is bringing that good looking brunette backup singer he used to have to distract us all?

You'll be more easily distarcted Sooner as you will be much closer to Meat than myself all the way down at 13...oooo my lucky number

Ummm JT, in case that diet doesn't work by Saturday don't go spreading yourself into my area...k?

No problem Giz... you guys might as well write my #12 team off right now. I just heard from a bunch of college buddies and they'll be in town. We'll be heading out to the clubs around Midnight Friday night. Based on my 1000 calorie per day intake lately, 3 beers will get me wasted and 3 shots will ensure that my eyes don't open until at least the 5th round. Mental note - bring sunglasses.

I guess I better not tell my partners that our $1250 might not pay off!

Jumping on a plane tomorrow morning... see you at the pool. JT

Pick #3 Checking in.

1) Arod

2) Pujols

3) Vlad???

4) Meat Loaf will follow with Matt Stairs to begin the all Meat Loaf team.

This means I wont have a shot at Ken Harvey at the 28th pick either.

Pretty kewl as we seem spread all over the world in this league...Wisconsin, Minnesota, Jersey, Japan, Oklahoma and now Virginia...now that I look at it we'd be able to construct a great menu for dinner from all of these places... Hey cut me some slack, I'm bored and hungry...is it Thursday yet? :D

I don't think I am out of line by demanding that, even though I am not a country music fan, being from Oklahoma I am entitled to any and all good statistics that Garth Brooks puts up.

Pick #7, Brett Washburn, from Atlanta - get into Vegas on Friday afternoon, just in time for Georgia Tech hoops at the sports book. Had to change my flight leaving Sunday to Monday so I could watch GT and Wisconsin play Sunday. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Oh and Sooner you can have all Garth's greatest hits...looks like it may give ya a 1-2 hit headstart but that BA sure is going to suffer...

Grew up in North Dakota. Transplant from Madison, WI. Been in Atlanta for 10 years now.

Very familier with Duluth, MN believe it or not. You from there originally?

You sure do have some teams to pull for this year in the NCAA's...not from Duluth originally, moved up here for a new challenge in the working world if ya can believe that...beautiful place but sure gets a bit colder than the South...not many people can believe I went from those sultry 95-100 degree summer days to the -25, -50 windchill winters that I experienced this year...lol.

Great draft everyone and I just wish the games were starting NOW! I have to say that the event was top notch and our Facillitator Brady was knowledgable and efficient. There truly were no snags of any great magnitude and everyone was patient even when a certain team needed 5 or was it 6 picks to get a guy still on the board...

As a side note, I want to know how our guy knew the proper pronunciation of every player? Was there a cheat sheet for this too...LOL.

Have to agree that it was a blast and Brady did a very good job. I'm ready for next year already, of course coming back to Vegas has something to do with that. Good luck all, just not too good.

Nevada...I was pullin from the 13 slot and am pleased to a degree with my team. I had a certain strategy and got many of the players I was hoping for but since draft day I have 3 DL's already which is not a good thing. 2 of the three were my risky picks so I can't say I am surprised and the third I covered by having his backup since I wasn't convinced he'd hold the KC closer role anyway. The worst part is the waiting...wish the games were going so we could see how all of our technigues worked.

Bongizmo, I'm feeling very good about my squad at this point. I made one error and will correct it as much as I can through free agency. I really felt I stole Gagne at #26. He went 1st round almost everywhere else. I went for balance and mostly succeeded, although I expect to be a hair light in steals. But like you said, I can't wait for the season to start!
