NFBC Magazine Draft

It seems the point should be, if you volunteered to do the "expert" draft for the magazine, you should have brought your A game.

Anyone can do a mock draft, i'm not sure it's fair to the magazines readers to think they are getting an experts mock draft when they are not...

Sure changes my thinking towards trusting magazine mock drafts from here on out...

they may not be getting an "experts" mock draft when one of the "experts" finished worse than 170+ overall last year.

if you "trust" magazine mock drafts (done in JANUARY), you're likely dead money anyways.

So when it all comes down to it, the only reason you drafted was to possibly throw off main entrants. How pathetic.

Greg has offered 500 NFBC dollars as a prize, and you are not playing it out. How pathetic.

Gekko will play it out, he is pulling your chains and you guys are falling all over yourselves to take the bait. Gekko is too competitive not to play it out.

We all know that a Gekko is independently wealthy and doesn't care how he does in these events besides the bragging right. I, on the other hand, would like to win and essentially have Greg pay for a $500 satellite event next year.

Simple enough if anyone did not give their best and/or does not want to play it out. Let someone inherit the team who will try their best.

Problem with people quitting is it could easily lead to someone winning the 500 bucks who should not.

What's really funny is you're 3-0 vs me and won't make a wager. Now that's funny.

Let me make it a little more interesting then. I'll bet you 2007 NFBC entry fee. Winner has to beat the other in Mag and Main. Split is a push.

I know you have more than $100k, so 1% of that should be not much to lose, right?

I haven't read every post in this thread but I don't see the big deal if all Gekko did was refrain from pulling out his sleepers. As long as he still picked value in those spots and didn't pick some dodgie player hoping readers would eventually increase the value of that difficient player, then no harm done. If I missed some threads and Gekko has indeed done just that then I would take your 5th round pick away from you in the Main Event. It's not like that pick has helped you in the past. ;)

Don't let Gekko snooker you boys. He plays to win. In looking over everyone's draft picks, I think this league looks pretty damn competitive. I don't see anyone getting a head start on anyone else.

As for Gekko and UFS, I can bring those fools together in Las Vegas this September for the last meal like I did in 2005 and with any luck John will pick up most of the tab again! ;) They can bet the first $100 on that meal and I'll be happy. Outside of that, play for the $500 first place prize and have some fun.

Since this is a baseball site, I'm trying to figure out why accomplishments playing fantasy football is relevent. A tremendous feat in it's own rite, but not germane. I'm not sure how important dollar bills won is as a true indicator either, but I suppose it's all we got. That said, it seems to me UFS has cashed an NFBC check, while Gekko is still waiting for a need to fill out a 1099. Playing baseball thru NFBC, UFS is in the black. The only black Gekko's been in was backstage at a RuPaul show.
