Funny, I had LV6 last year, but from the 10th spot (and did terribly, took Ichiro instead of Teixara!!!)

Cool, 7th Spot!!!

06 Las Vegas League 6 ...

I like the sound of that!!!

I'm Dan Heath and my wife Kat and I own a small Mom and Pop type propane business just a little east of Sacramento California. I've been doing fantasy baseball since 98, but nothing at this level. I still struggle to pronounce names like Pujos and Teixeira?

We've just had 15" of snow dumped on us and with more on the way, we are looking forward to the vacation and good times in Vegas... I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy that beer Greg has promised us too, do I have to share it with my wife?

Good Luck everyone!!

PS: I was trying to do some research on the players in this league but became confused with my first search. I thought Ken Magner is "Sack" on the boards so who is "Josh Sack"... A quinkydink or what? No disrespect, just poking some fun and looking forward to the good times ahead!!!

PSS: My wife likes to pick the ones from the city's that she'd like to visit and somehow that works???

:D

Well if she likes to visit NYC then the approach makes a lot of sense...

Anyway, welcome to the big leagues of Fantasy BB. My first year was last year and my auction team did ok (7th out of 15), even with Garciaparra, Rolen, Sheets going down. My big league team didn't do well with Woods and Sosa going down...

Anyway, have fun!

Dan: First off welcome to the NFBC and kudos for getting the MRS involved. I'm Ken Magner and have played the NFBC and NFFC from its inception. The baseball portion coupled with the NCAA Tourney make this my favorite time of the year. My Display name is "SACK" as I've been a longtime player in another fantasy league run by CDM. My team name has always been "Sackofpotatoes". The guys over there have gotten a kick out of the fact there is a REAL Mr Sack in my NFBC League. That man is a player, he has a good track record. Best of luck, hope to GET a chance to say hello before the draft. Safe trip. Ken/Sack

Thanks and back at ya... Maybe we can all get together and have a drink or something? Hey, maybe Chris will buy us all steak dinners, whadda ya say Chris? :D

Also, if everyone can chime in here, this could be an active league. I like the BS part of fantasy...

Me? I am just a poor new yorker - trust me, if you saw what I pay for my mortgage, you would be offering to buy me drinks!!!

Anyway, my buddy is the wine director for the Mirage so I will be spending time with him and my co-player (hate to say partner as this may give some the wrong meaning) RT who is coming in from Kansas City

Definitely lets grab a drink afterwards. After Friday's 650 draft and the big event, I expect to need a few stiff drinks...

Spy aka Chris Throop

Enjoyed taking part in Vegas #6. Enjoyed sitting next to James "Juan Pierre" Vassallo and the tag team of Team Newman. Great attitudes from you both and I wish you the best of luck. Chris Throop and my Arch-Nemesis from the Auctions leagues Team Mccready. Good job Doug. Lopi, nice to meet you even though you took all my Phils. May the best team win. GL guys.

Hey "Sack" man, appreciate your comments about the draft. Both myself and my partner had a great time at the draft -- especially because no one seemed to take this event so seriously that they didn't joke around--or had some fun.

The positive vibes emanating from our league, though, come in start contrast to the malicious and malevolent comments from Mr. UFS about the sexual preference of Nipsey Russell's owners.

You see, I won't reveal anything about the off- the-field-habits of our ownership group. However, I believe that Mr. UFS's comments are out of line, offensive, uneducated.

I would hope that Mr. Ambrosius would step in, and suspend Mr. UFS from these message boards--or at least sanction him in some way--to ensure that the NFBC won't permit discrimination or hostility because of a player's race, creed, religion, or sexual preference.

Good luck everyone.

Nipsey Russell.

Thanks Nipsey - just learn to pass over the comments like that from UFS. Never know when people like him are busting balls with a friend. Besides, I make my own judgements. Good luck this season brother. Hope to cya for football in NYC.

I would step in, but unfortunately this is dry humor between two old friends. Newman is married with two kids and ready to make me rich by getting me a national sponsor for the NFBC. He's a participant in UFS's games and for whatever reason John digs him that way all the time. The other participants in this league may not get the dry humor, but I have a feeling Scott does.

Just ignore the UFS man behind the curtain and continue with this thread. I'll sanction UFS later. Good luck everyone.

Steve Sax???? LOL. This is my first ever reference to Newman like this because he recently got divorced and his trip to LV was his coming out party. ;)

The funniest thing about all of this is that Newman actually posted on a MB. Maybe he paid someone to do it ;)

Kinda figured I had it pegged. Police work and lockeroom banter have a way of heading in that direction more times than not.

Can anyone beat RT and my team? well, actually, probably, but we will give it a great try. Anyone for some sidebets?

Spy, your team looks really good and It appears you drafted some great value...

Drop someone so i can pick him up... :D

No problem at the draft though. My wife and I had a great time and got a chance to relax from the kids and business. I would have liked to have met more from the league, but meeting you and Sack was a good start. We'll mingle better next year!

Chris, don't think I'd want to pick a fight with CC Desperado's. Man is a playa. I want S C on my side. ;)
