Hey Greg!

I was curious, are we still going to be using the same STATS web interface that we used last year to access our leagues/teams? I know there was a discussion last year around upgrading the interface. I just thought it'd be nice if the nation's premier fantasy baseball event had the nation's premier fantasy baseball web site as well, complete with Real-Time league standings and stat comparisons, and some other features present on other leading sites.

Any word on this?

Thanks

STATS remains our partner in this event. I know they are always working to enhance the features they provide but if you guys have any specific instructions of what you'd like to see let us know and we'll pass them along to our friends at STATS.

I may be in the minority but I really didn't have a real problem with STATS.

A nice feature would be up-to-the-minute standings like Yahoo and CBS have. Clearly it is a relatively easy and doable task. I'm surprised ESPN still doesn't have that feature given the way they constantly screw around with their formats. This is very nice fluff for most of the season but can be of some value and provide more fun as the season concludes.

STATS vastly improved the Sunday Waiver process at our requests and they seem agreeable to provide things people like.

This season, they will need to be receptive to potential modifications in the mid-week DL-driven roster move process if problem occur. I suspect they will.

I think they provide a sufficient level of statistics on players especially given that the NFBC players should be above the normal fantasy player.

I'm with you Viper. I'm perfectly happy with the site as is, but I do think things can be done to modernize it a bit, in order to keep up with other sites out there. To me, the one feature that is missing is the Live Standings feature. Coming down the stretch last year, I was neck and neck battling for 2nd place in my league. Being able to see that battle play out real time would have been a treat.

Live league standings would be huge. Otherwise they were good, and I love the amount of league and event data I can pull up.

Greg,

Last season, I posted a thread with a bunch of small fixes that, while small, would dramatically improve the overall site experience for users who have to use it day in day out.

things like, having a 'free agent bid' button on the player profile page.

Did any of these get noted?

Spyhunter The bid button would be helpful. I hate swimming around rankings or a list of 10,000 alphabetical players trying to find the guy I want. Particularly if it's 3:58 on a Sunday.

The live standings is awesome and anyone who has used Allstar Stats knows they're fun when you're battling for a title late in the season. I'll check with STATS, but I'm not sure it's a feature they can offer for 2006. I'll definitely check, though.

Other than that, I thought STATS did a great job last year and the standings were there each morning before 4 a.m. most of the time. We'll see if we can add bells and whistles, but I'm more concerned with reliability and easy functionality for free agents, stats, categories, etc.

Spyhunter, send the suggestions again. I'm old and I don't remember them all.

[/QUOTE]Greg,

I agree completely with Spy about having the bid button there. I'll throw out a couple more ...

1) When you click on team stats, on the pulldown menu it should have an option that says "All Teams". As it is now, you can only look at one team's stats at a time.

2) Whether looking at team stats, or when looking at free agent player stats, there is a pull-down box that says "fantasy" or "standard". Standard has the same stats plus extra columns like OBA, SLG, BB, ER, IP, etc. The "fantasy" option, which is the default should be eliminated (or at least not the default) since it forces us to refresh the whole page just to see the extra columns.

Just show all the freakin' columns to begin with. Its very annoying. I explained all this when I suggested the change a year ago, but let me say again why its important. If I want to see the "standard" stats for all 15 teams in my league it takes one click if I'm using Sportsline, TQ Stats, FJungle or ESPN. But for the NFBC it takes 30 separate page loads, one at a time.

what about being able to click on the team within the individual standings. If a team is beating me in ERA and it is close I want to be able to click right there rather than go up to the main standings.

I also agree with the other suggestions mainly the free agent bid thing.
